About

Minou Bazaar brings you a global design experience through unique, high quality, and personal handmade jewelry.

I design, make, photograph, market, package, ship, and do everything else possible to run my shop. I want my customers to feel as though they have stumbled upon a colorful and intoxicating bazaar!

I am Indian-American and with a lot of women in the family, I grew up with fabulous jewelry. I have always admired the power of accessories to transform an outfit and your mood. I believe that jewelry is not just for special occasions but should be worn every day!

Several years ago, I was going through a tough time of unemployment and a move across country. To take my mind off my situation, my mother asked for my help to organize her vast jewelry collection. I love organizing, so I enthusiastically delved into the bins of jewelry from India as well as the United States. I discovered many beautiful vintage pieces that no one wore anymore because they were a bit too much for American clothes. As I organized, I became obsessed with transforming these neglected jewels into new pieces that we could wear every day. I learned jewelry-making techniques and became entranced with combining vintage pieces with contemporary materials, while maintaining the colors, aesthetics, and feel of Indian, Mughal, Moroccan, and Persian designs and cultures.

Right now, I spend a great deal of time sourcing materials and thinking about my inspirations and design before designing a piece of jewelry. I scout for vintage pieces and so does my mother-in-law!

My degrees in history and anthropology have helped my business a great deal, believe it or not, as I translate traditional designs into jewelry that women can wear with modern clothes.

My Ideal Client
I make jewelry for women who are curious, romantic, and have a passion for other cultures, beauty, history, and art, women who love to wear jewelry every day.

I am fortunate to have found Etsy and be part of this community. I love selling my creations online and connecting with my customers. My favorite part of this job is creating custom jewelry that reminds people of their trip to India, bridesmaids’ gifts, or special pieces for lifetime events. Many of my customers buy my jewelry to wear to Indian weddings as guests, which is very exciting!

For those of you who are curious about my shop name, Minou is a cuter spelling of my real name, Meenoo. Also, it means “kitten” in French, and I couldn’t resist that!

Thank you for visiting my shop! I make unique, fun, and colorful jewelry using quality new and vintage materials. I love to incorporate findings and beads from India and the US, as I am also a combination of Indian and American elements. I design and make all the jewelry with my own two hands in my home studio.
I deeply value your business and I strive to make sure every customer has a smooth and happy buying experience from my shop. Please do not hesitate to contact me through Etsy convo or email (minoubazaar AT gmail.com) if you have questions.

I strongly believe in recycling. Therefore, I will mail out your jewelry in eco-friendly and compostable padded envelopes that you can re-use!

Payment
I accept payment through credit card and Paypal. Payment must be received within 24 hours of the sale. I believe that it's not a sale until payment is received. If I have not received payment within 24 hours, I will cancel the sale. Thank you for understanding.
I do not include a paper invoice with my jewelry for two reasons: sometimes the jewelry is a gift and you do not need to include an invoice, and I like to cut down on paper usage. If you would like a paper invoice, please tell me when you order and I am happy to include one.
Shipping
All orders are shipped USPS first class to the address you have listed on your Etsy invoice. Please contact me if you want your purchase shipped to a different address. I ship packages for FREE to the US and Canada using Paypal. US customers will get a tracking number.

International Buyers:
My international rate prices are flat rate. They are calculated to include packaging and handling fees and time associated with international shipping. They do not reflect actual ship cost. Items are shipped USPS First Class with average estimated delivery of 5-9 business days after your item has shipped. In some rare cases shipment time can be up to 2-4 weeks depending on Customs holds for your country.
The customer is responsible for any tariff or additional taxes their country may charge. If you would like to purchase insurance/signature confirmation, please let me know and I will send you a new invoice. I ship internationally at the cheapest level, unfortunately, that does not include tracking numbers. If you would like a tracking number, please let me know before you purchase an item and I will add it to your invoice.

Please understand that once your package leaves my hands, it is out of my control. First Class mail can take up to 10 mailing days in the US and up to 3 weeks for international during the holidays. If there are problems with the package getting to you, please contact me and we can work something out.

If you need something faster or would like Priority (2-3 days) or Express mail (1-2 days), please contact me BEFORE ordering to make arrangements.

I take pride in my speedy shipping. I ship all orders within 3 business days. I will contact you if there is a delay for any reason.

If you order more than one item, I will contact you through email to see if you would like a jewelry box for each item. If I do not hear from you, I will consolidate the jewelry into fewer jewelry boxes to save on shipping. Please let me know if you are purchasing a gift and I will be happy to include a handwritten note on a pretty gift card.

All orders are shipped AFTER payment is received and/or cleared.
Refunds and Exchanges
Customer satisfaction is very important to me and I want you to be happy with your new jewelry. If you are not happy, I will accept refunds or exchanges 7 days after purchase. If the jewelry breaks due to normal wear and tear, I am happy to fix it for free. Shipping is your responsibility in either case. Please contact me for arrangements.
Additional policies and FAQs
Custom Order Policy

I love custom orders and Indian-inspired bridal and commitment ceremony orders. Please contact me at minoubazaar [!at] gmail.com or through an Etsy convo.
We can discuss your needs and vision through emails. I can send you a few pictures of what I think you would like based on our conversation. However, I always create the custom order after it's been purchased. In addition, I buy the needed supplies for the custom order after the order has been purchased.

I ship the purchased jewelry to the customer after sending a picture first. I make sure the customer is happy with the product before it's shipped, so there are no surprises. I execute all my custom orders quickly and you will not be disappointed!

I have niobium earwires in a dark brown color and titanium earwires in grey for people with allergies. If you would like niobium or titanium earwires, please let me know when you order. I will be happy to switch them out for free.

Jewelry made in a smoke-free and cat-friendly home.

I also have another Etsy profile (Meenoo) that I use to buy on Etsy.
