About

Two extreme introverts that must create! Life is what You make it so Go Do You!!!

Over 10 years ago while cleaning out a closet I found an old origami instruction booklet and that evening my husband and I made paper cranes using old magazines. We had so much fun we purchased some beautiful paper and made earrings, bracelets and necklaces out of origami flowers (and mobiles out of fish, dragons, etc. - but that's another story). The next defining moment was when my mother-in-law gave us a bag of fringe and broken jewelry. We moved the pieces and parts around and right before my eyes a beautiful necklace emerged - it is the necklace featured on our Shop Cover Photo. Also this necklace will always be special to me because I wore it to my father's funeral and it sort of became a conversation piece AND it was then that the idea germinated to open up an Etsy shop one day. Why not? Over the years we began using other materials usually repurposing or upcycling stuff we already had. Today we follow our gut instincts and let the materials tell us what to do. Once we have the idea/concept we then become obsessed until it is done. Invariably the creative path surprises us as it always takes detours. We love paying attention to the little details and the back of the piece as well. We both know when we know that the piece is finished. Our jewelry is what it is because we collaborate on everything.
A word on our general creativity philosophy - In today's world it is all about creating a cohesive image. While we certainly understand this concept I guess I would describe our image as "Expect the Unexpected" or maybe "A Little Bit of This and A Little Bit of That". We will continue to create with reckless abandon (we also make yard art, wall hangings, mobiles, fairy doors, light fixtures, etc. and will open another etsy shop in 2017) because in our hearts we know that if you create from a place of love, care and authenticity this creates positive energy and happiness for us AND hopefully for anyone that might wear one of our pieces.
