About

Fostering a child natural curiosity and wonder

I believe there is magic in this world, and more importantly there is a great need to marvel at the wonder around us. Children are inherently impressionable and because of this they experience wonder every single day. Mirus Toys was created in honor of that awe and in fact was named for the Latin word for marvel. We believe that by creating educational and creative toys guided by Montessori and Waldorf principles we can encourage children to nurture their creativity with imaginative play.

My daughter is my inspiration, and when I design toys I consider her curiosity and enjoyment. I want all children to laugh and play the way my daughter does when she discovers a new set of toys. As she grows and discover the wonder that is our world, my line of toys keep expanding too.

Every single product is tested and CPSC approved and compliant. We use only the highest quality maple wood and color with non-toxic paints and food safe sealants. I do not make these claims lightly because as I mentioned before my daughter is my inspiration and if I would not want her playing with it, I do not want your child playing with it. The CPSC approval is made by third party labs and I maintain an up to date compliance certificate at all times.

Thank you for taking the time to read over the policies for my shop, Mirus Toys. Here you will find my policies regarding payment, shipping, refunds and exchanges, as well as additional information such as my business hours.

We are pleased to offer you a wide selection of high quality Waldorf and Montessori inspired toys for children of all ages. We are located in Vancouver, Washington and do offer local pick up options. If you have a question that is unanswered by our current policies, please feel free to message us directly.

Returns and exchanges
I gladly accept returns and exchanges
Contact me within: 3 days of delivery
Ship items back within: 7 days of delivery
I don't accept cancellations
But please contact me if you have any problems with your order.
The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalized orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
  • Digital downloads
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
Returns and exchange details
Mirus Toys reserves the right to evaluate all refund/exchange requests on a case by case basis. Due to the custom nature of many of my products, refunds/exchanges are not offered for those products unless an error was made by Mirus Toys in production.

Examples of circumstances that do not qualify for refunds/exchanges include (but are not limited to):
Incorrect shipping address (placed by the customer)
Wrong product ordered by customer
Shipping delays
Buyer’s Remorse

Should a customer wish to submit a refund/exchange request they must do so within three (3) days of receipt of item via a detailed conversation in Etsy message. Photographs may be requested in cases of damage claims by Mirus Toys. If a refund or exchange is approved, the customer is responsible for shipping the item back to Mirus Toys at their expense. Shipping charges are nonrefundable.

It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure their order is correct at the time of placement, and by purchasing a product from Mirus Toys, the customer agrees to the terms and conditions set forth within these policies.
Payment
Mirus Toys accepts PayPal, Etsy Gift Cards, Visa, American Express, MasterCard, and Discover credit cards for payment.

Payment is due at the time of order, and Mirus Toys reserves the right to cancel a transaction is payment does not clear within five (5) days of order placement.

You do not need a PayPal account to use this option, and can sign in as a Guest. To use this option, please follow the prompts and refer to PayPal.com for any additional questions.

Shipping
Currently Mirus Toys ships during traditional business hours using USPS, FedEx and UPS.

We are dedicated to providing our customers with the most affordable experience which is why we are constantly comparing the three major shipping carriers to find the most competitive prices. All orders are shipped with a tracking number and insurance, but we do not ship internationally at this time.

It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure correct shipping address at the time of order placement, and Mirus Toys is released from any liability should the customer order with an incorrect address as per the Etsy Terms of Service for both buyers and sellers.

Mirus Toys is released from liability for delays in shipping once a package has left our care. We are unable to control shipping factors such as weather, staffing errors, or delays and by purchasing a product from Mirus Toys, the customer recognizes that all shipping profiles are estimates and not guarantees of time. Should an error occur in shipping; it is the responsibility of the customer to contact their local corresponding shipping company and file a formal complaint and case. Mirus Toys is available for questions should this unlikely event occur and will assist you in this process.
Additional policies and FAQs
Mirus Toys adheres to the following production hours:
Monday – Friday from 9:00am – 4:00pm

During peak seasons we may extend these hours to include night and weekend work but will keep all customer correspondences and responses to normal business hours.

Please note we are located in Vancouver, Washington. We observe all national American holidays, and as such will not produce product or conduct any business during those times. It is the responsibility of the customer to be aware of holiday observances as they may impact production and shipping times.

Etsy conversation is the preferred method of contact but we are also available as suba [!at] mirustoys.com.
Privacy
The following is a long list of legal mumbo-jumbo that is required when I do business in certain areas. It can be summed up this way: I only collect the minimum necessary information to complete you order; I don't share it with anyone unless it is absolutely necessary (like, say, the Post Office for shipping); I won't put you on a mailing list, or keep contacting you after your order is complete.
