About

A vintage love affair.

Vintage clothing seems to have always been part of my life. My grandmother was a professional dressmaker and taught me French seams, bound button holes and couture detailing. Growing up in a creative home I was wearing "dress up" vintage as a child. Upcycling was a way of life since hand-me-downs always needed altering. I'd stitch them up into my own creations... adding lace to my schoolgirl tights and plaid skirts!

At school in Vermont I dug through old barns and attics to come up with my wardrobe of Victorian skirts, Edwardian blouses and Flapper petticoats. Then on to NYC where I worked for top vintage dealers, learning restoration skills from seamstresses who worked on the finest garments at the Met. They completed what my grandmother had started... a lifelong love of fine craftsmanship. My favorite way to sew is simply a needle, thread and patience.

I've been charmed and surprised by vintage clothing for many years. Here in my shop you'll find an ever-changing collection of garments that continue to delight me... from their timeless grace, sophistication and craftsmanship to their simple whimsy.

And I still put lace on my stockings!

Returns and exchange details
All sales are considered final. I take great care in photographing and describing my items and I'm very happy to answer any questions prior to purchase. I don't offer refunds due to size, style or color issues. If you feel an item is not as described or a major issue has been overlooked please contact me! Please read the following before making a purchase in order to avoid any misunderstandings.

CLOTHING SIZES

Vintage items aren't the same as contemporary sizes. Please use the actual measurements I post in a listing for a correct fit. All my items are measured with the item laying flat. You can measure your own garment this way and then compare the measurements to see if an item will fit you.

Here's my method of taking the basic measurements for a garment:

Dresses, Lingerie, Tops & Skirts:
Shoulders: measured from the shoulder seam to the opposite shoulder seam.
Sleeve: measured from shoulder seam to sleeve hem.
Bust: measured across the center of the bustline.
Waist: measured across the center of the true waist.
(unless mentioned otherwise in the listing, as in Empire waistlines)
Hips: measured across the hips at approximately 8" below the waist.
Length: measured from the edge of the neckline at the highest point at mid-shoulder to the bottom of the garment.

Pants and Rompers:
Inseam: measured from center of crotch to bottom of hem.
Rise: measured from middle of crotch to the top of the waistband.

Footwear:
Length: measured inside the shoe along the sole from back of heel to front point of toe.
Width: measured outside the shoe across the widest part of the front of the sole.
Height: measured from the bottom of the heel to the top of the shoe.
Heel: heel height measured alone.
(Boots don't allow a measurement taken inside the shoe. Therefore they are measured along the side of the outside of the sole mid-heel to mid toe and along the inside of the sole heel-to toe.)

CONDITION

All of the items listed here are vintage and most are pre-worn. As a result these items can be expected to show some normal wear and imperfections. I check over all items carefully and anything really note worthy will be mentioned in the listing. All of my items are sold "as is.” If you have any questions regarding the condition please contact me before purchase. I'm happy to send additional photos upon request.

COLOR

Though I do my best to describe the color, variations can occur between what you see and what I've listed that are beyond my control due to the differences between monitor calibrations. We are professional photographers and we do our best to keep our monitor calibrations neutral. If you have any questions regarding color please contact me before purchasing.

REFUNDS

Refunds are only available if I have grossly misrepresented an item and only after the item has been safely returned and inspected. If you feel you need to return an item you must contact me within 24 hrs of receipt of the item and ship it back to me within 3 days of receipt of the item. It must be shipped back in the same type of shipping packaging and using the same shipping method as originally shipped. This must include insurance if the item was insured when originally shipped. Shipping costs to return the item will also only be included in the refund if I have grossly misrepresented the item. So please be aware of this before purchasing.

All items are shipped with a tag attached. This tag MUST still be attached to the garment in the same condition it was in when the item was shipped or the garment will not be eligible for refund under any circumstances. You must NOT remove this tag.

No reversal of payment is available unless an item has been determined to be significantly not as described by myself or a third party (Etsy or PayPal). Partial refunds for condition issues or any other reasons are not available. After an item that has been determined as significantly not as described has a 100% refund will be send and no other moneys are owed to the buyer.

INSURANCE CLAIMS:

If an item arrives damaged, you must keep the item and package materials as originally received and contact me immediately. If the packaging is not retained, no claim can be filed and no refund will be given.

If an item does not arrive please contact me as soon as possible and I will look into filing a claim. All items are insured through USPS or Etsy's shipping insurance.

If your package is lost, you may be required to sign a form stating that the package is lost before I can go forward claiming insurance.

If these procedures are not followed, no claim can be processed and no refund will be given.
Payment
PAYMENT
I accept Paypal and credit cards through Etsy's Direct Payments as well as Paypal. I do not accept money orders or checks. Payment is always due at time of purchase.

RESERVATIONS / INSTALLMENTS
I can reserve (hold) any item for 24 hours for free. If you would like to reserve an item for more than 24 hours, you may do so with a 25% non-refundable deposit. Please provide your email address to receive a PayPal invoice with complete terms.
I can hold the item for an additional 2 weeks at which time the remaining 75% is due or I will cancel the reservation.

CUSTOMS FEES
Customers with shipping addresses outside the U.S. are solely responsible for all duties, import taxes and brokerage fees. These fees are not included in the cost of shipping.
Shipping
I generally ship within 3 days of purchase. If you have a rush please let me know and I'll do my best.* I ship through the USPS as economically as possible and am happy to offer combined shipping on standard shipping. Most U.S. packages arrive within 3-10 business days of payment. Most international orders arrive within 10-30 business days.

Shipping prices actual and based on the weight of an item and the size of the packaging. I do not play games by pretending my shipping is less. I also do not pad my shipping with additional costs. However, shipping costs are estimated and If I miscalculate shipping charges on an item I will refund the extra charges rounded to the next dollar after the cost of the basic shipping materials. I do not charge handling fees. I include insurance on all items over $100.

Internationally I ship First Class International unless the item is too large for that service and then I ship Priority. I automatically insure items to all countries that Etsy's shipping insurance covers. Please contact me if you're uncertain if insurance extends to your country.* Combined shipping will be configured through communication after an item is purchased. I ship to most countries, with a few exclusions. I no longer ship to Mexico, Brazil, Italy, Russia and all African and Middle Eastern countries due to unreliable shipping within those countries.

I do not ship to APO/FPO/DPO locations.

International buyers are responsible for any additional fees charged by their countries. Please do not ask me to falsify customs documents. I cannot do that for you. Please contact me if you would like to upgrade to Priority or Express Mail and I'll adjust your fees to include these charges.

All shipping, insurance and tracking are paid for by the buyer.

Though I take great care in packing and shipping, any item lost or damaged on route is the responsibility of the buyer and must be dealt with via the USPS and or the insurance carrier I use. I will help to facilitate this process but can't guarantee a return on a claim.

*NOTE: Express shipping is only available under certain circumstances for an additional charge and only within the US. Please contact me to see if I can accommodate your request.

Under certain circumstances this is possible for the additional fees required. Please contact me with the date and time you need your item and your location including your city, zip code and country and I'll see if I can accommodate your request.

Is this item new? Do you have this in another size or color or can you make it?
No. Vintage items are 20+ years or older. They are generally available in one size and color.

Do you have any coupon codes? Will you negotiate the price of this item?

How much is shipping? Can you combine shipping on multiple items?
Click on the shipping and policies tab or add the item to your cart to find out the cost of shipping fees. For domestic shipping this is generally accurate within $2-3. If I combine items for shipping often the combined price is less, due to the combined weight sometimes coming in at a lesser price with USPS. International buyers may want to ask for a quote in multiple items.

Do you accept returns? What if an item doesn't fit?
I only accept returns is an item is greatly not as described. Please see my policy above on returns.
I do not accept returns based on an item not fitting. To avoid this I've posted accurate measurements on each item description. I'm also happy to answer any questions regarding size or fit and send additional measurements upon request BEFORE purchase.
Otherwise all sales are considered final. Please review all listing photos, and read the description thoroughly.

How many centimeters is "______" inches? What size is this dress or pair of shoes in my country?
If you enter: How many centimeters is "______" inches?' into google replacing the blank space with the number you're trying to convert, google will do the math for you.

You can also google "shoe size conversion chart". All shoes are in US sizes, but the best way to determine fit is to measure the inside of a pair of shoes that fit you well and only buy if the measurements are a close match.

Clothing sizes vary from country to country and brand to brand. So please use the measurements to determine fit. If you need assistance, please send me your measurements (bust, waist, hip, height in cm or inches) and I will advise if something is likely to fit.

Can you reserve this item for me?
Yes I can reserve any item for 24 hours for free. If you would like to reserve an item for longer than 24 hours, just send your email address and the length of time you need to pay and I will send you a PayPal invoice. All reserve payments must be made through PayPal, however you do not need a PayPal account, just a credit card to pay.
