Announcement
Look for more Historical Spindles/Distaffs/distaves coming soon. I apologize to all who contacted me with what they would like from my shop. I have been unable to respond to specific requests and am sorry for that. The reality is that I only produce one-of-a-kind spindles/distaves from recycled materials. I have to accept that this is me and my working method/pace. My blog (missingspindle.blogspot.com) is helpful in learning how to use these spindles. My YouTube channel URLs: Easy find: search Youtube for 'missingspindle' or go here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLjUCUOUGq_WC-sv2N_qfIhpJDi8LbR-9U These 14 videos will help you to bring back a lost technique! Happy Historical spinning-

5 out of 5 starsLois has been so generous with her knowledge, skill, and materials! She clearly knows her stuff historically, worked with me to accommodate a deadline, and also sent me some wool and a cute little pouch for my whorls! I’ve been having so much fun learning how to spin on my drop spindle, which was beautifully crafted. I highly recommend this shop!

5 out of 5 starsI am sooo delighted with my Oseberg-style Viking Hand Distaff in Maple. Lois did a beautiful job turning and finishing the wood, lovely smooth finish, and she even dressed it with some wool batt all tied on to properly show how to do so, and it is really very nice to spin with a drop spindle feeding it with the wool from the distaff (I will be taking it to my Knit Night to show it off to my friends that are fans of that Viking series on t.v.) ;) Thank you Lois for such a lovely new tool to use with my spinning. ;)
