About

Rescued Wood Looking for a Good Home!

I grew up just outside the St. Louis, MO area, surrounded by nature, where I developed a love for the outdoors. I later went to school for photography and film. In my twenties I started my own video and photography business.

Around 8 years ago, I decided to start a project combining my love of the outdoors and imagery. I started to explore all over the Missouri wilderness looking for great subjects. Why go out west or anywhere else when Missouri has so many diverse and beautiful landscapes, plants and animals? It made sense to me to capture my own home state and after collecting enough photos, to start sharing them with others.

My creativity didn't stop there! I had the idea to make naturalistic frames to help display my work using driftwood and hollow log slices. I had such a good response from customers, I started dabbling in making other rustic wood decor items, such as lamps, bookends, shelves, and more, but with my own modern twist. Now I just let my imagination tell me what to create next.

My photography and art has now been published or written about in several Missouri publications including Missouri Life Magazine, The Official Missouri Travel Guide, The River Hills Traveler, and the Jefferson County News Leader.

My wife, Stephanie, loves traveling Missouri with me and often is my hiking partner. She also does our accounting, almost always accompanies me at our showings, and more recently, has found an interest in wood burning. You may see her work from time to time in my store.

I generally exhibit and sell my work at art, craft, and home shows around the Greater St. Louis area, but have been visiting more Missouri communities as time goes on. A calendar is available on my website. I also sell prints on my website and now Etsy, more recently. I would love to meet you if you get the chance to come visit us at a show!

I hope you will also enjoy Missouri Nature and my work . . . thanks for visiting my store!

Shipping
Listings that include free shipping are for the lower 48 states in the USA only. They will ship via USPS or FedEx Ground; whichever is more economical for the size/weight. Please contact me if you would like to upgrade or ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, or another country and find out the additional shipping cost that will be required
.
Items that don't have free shipping, generally ship with US postal service with delivery confirmation as that is usually the most economical, but with larger items, many times FedEx will cost less, as both grant discounts for being an Etsy Seller. This seems to be the best value for my customers and is how my shipping costs are calculated, but please feel free to contact me with your zip code if you would like me to double check for savings, especially with large items or if you live out west. Some larger furniture and items may also have notes to contact me first as your item may have to ship freight with an LTL carrier. If that is the case, you will need to contact me to set up any special arrangements and to figure your best price option. At your request, I would also be happy to ship using a different carrier, add additional insurance (most come with $100), signature confirmation, or other services. Please let me know before purchasing so I can quote you the price difference.

In the unfortunate event your package arrives damaged (which is rare), please document the damage and packaging with photos and contact me immediately. Do not discard any of the shipping/packing materials until any claims are resolved or we may not be able to grant refunds or repairs. $100 of coverage is included with most shipments, but I can add more insurance at your cost, if you would like more.

Packages stolen from your residence due to the carrier leaving the package is not our responsibility. Generally, items or orders over $500 will automatically require direct signature confirmation, but ultimately it is up to you whether you would like that service added (extra cost) or have the package held for pickup at the nearest location to you (no cost if shipped FedEx). Carriers do warn that theft increases closer to the holidays, so if you think theft may be a problem in your area, please convo me to set up these services before purchase.

I will gladly investigate shipping outside the US. Just contact me and I will see what I can do. I would love for you to own a piece of my work, no matter where you are!
