Announcement    Happy New Year 2019!!!! I'm back creating. Can't wait to show you the new items.

And......we had a wedding!!!! Feeling so blessed to have a talented, wonderful, caring, beautiful daughter-in-law!!!

It's less than a week to go for my son's wedding!!! The autumn leaves are beautiful and the outdoor venue for the wedding ceremony should be perfect. I am blessed.

The Ocean Grove Fall Harvest Festival Arts and Crafts Show was on Saturday, October 6th. I was in the same location as last year - spot 366 in the park between Pilgram Pathway and Mt. Carmel Way and got to say hello to a number of prior customers and made some new friends!

I've taken some time off and will be attending limited shows this year. Later this year, my son is getting married and I'm a very happy momma!!!!! I couldn't ask for a more wonderful daughter-in-law.

Happy New Year 2018!!

Wishing you the happiest of holidays. Hope to see you next year at the shows.

December 13 through 16 (Wednesday through Saturday) - Carolyn Roche Designs Presents - Locals Pop-Up Shop - 1004 Main Street, Belmar, NJ - 10am to 9pm daily - four days of shopping!!! Carolyn Roche Designs; Yankeegirl Art; Cheryl Anne Design; Muddy Lotus Soaps, Miss Vikki's Creations; Kate Grady Stained Glass; Holly Jolly Jams; High Strung Guitar String Jewelry; Mudhen Pottery/Jersey Girl Soaps; Driftwood Rocks!!!

The countdown is beginning for the holidays. The Locals Pop Up Shop in Belmar is going to be a blast. One lucky winner will be drawn to win our fabulous Artisan Gift Basket worth over $500. Each purchase of $25 or more, made at the pop up shop, will entitle you to an entry ticket.

I hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving yesterday. It was a blast to spend time with our out of town family. Can't wait to see them again soon!!

What an interesting venue - Trenton Punk Rock Flea Market at the Roebling Machine Shop. Great building with so many windows. The Halloween costumes were amazing. Thank you to everyone who stopped and chatted.

It was a pleasure to meet "my people" at the Ocean Grove Fall Harvest Festival Arts & Crafts Show. It was such a beautiful day. I'm still smiling. Your suggestions have been noted and I do appreciate them.

We traveled to North Troy, Vermont (a mile from the Canadian border) to take our son and his fiancée to The Long Trail - a hike of some 273 miles - taking about three weeks!!! We met a wonderful couple, Caroline and Vincent, who had just finished the hike. While looking through the trail book, I discovered a bunch of great names for my hoodies and coats. I have just listed two plus sized coats.

At the local markets I've been asked to make custom orders with the client's sweater as the bodice. After thinking about this undertaking, I think it's a wonderful idea in theory. We would have to discuss fabric content - wool, cotton, ramie/cotton, etc and color hue. If you are interested in a custom order, please send me a message/conversation.

About

Time for a change!

Everything happens for a reason and I couldn't be happier. I took a deep breath and thought - I can make this change and transform my life. I haven't stopped smiling.

I saw these magnificent sweater coats by Katwise here on Etsy. She is truly unique with her craft. I bought Kat's tutorials, which gave you enough information to make them but vague enough so you needed to think things out. Then I bought a serger. I have been sewing for years and still use my mom's Kenmore "greenie" sewing machine, it's all metal and super heavy! Quite the workhorse.

With all the waste around us, I wanted to help rescue and recycle sweaters .... lace... ribbon....etc. Recycling and upcycling sweaters is amazingly time consuming. Keeping up with the laundry is a full time gig on its own. Containers of sweaters have taken over my house. Cotton, wool, cashmere, and even alpaca!!

Each sweater hoodie, arm warmers/finger-less gloves, sweater coat is unique. I enjoy the process of putting together a bunch of sweaters and waiting for them to speak to me on how to put them together. No set pattern, totally unstructured; each one all my creation.

We'll see what tomorrow brings!!!
