About

Is anyone surprised a fashion historian opened a vintage shop?

Hi there! I'm Virginia, and I'm the owner of Miss V Vintage. I have loved vintage clothing for as long as I can remember and always knew I wanted to study fashion history. After graduating with my Masters in Dress and Textile Histories in 2016, I took some time to think about what I wanted to do with my degree.

As a kid, I dreamed of owning my own shop, and I kept coming back to this idea. I had a closet full of vintage I wasn't wearing, and I wanted these pieces to go to people who would love and appreciate their value. I wanted to build a place (either in real life or online) where people who love clothes can come together and geek out over patterns, prints, and construction. I wanted to use my fashion history knowledge to help people understand the connection between ourselves, our personal style, our clothing, and our history. Fashion history has been my love and my life for so many years, and I wanted to build a place that would reflect this love.

So, Miss V Vintage was born. "Miss V" was my childhood nickname, and as a kid who was always wearing weird outfits and elaborate getups, I associate the name with my very sassy and fashion-forward younger self. I'm so excited to build this shop into everything I want it to be, and I'm so thankful to you for stopping by.

Welcome, I'm glad you're here, and enjoy Miss V Vintage!
