The bag is beautiful. The quality of the material us very high, sits well, holds quite a lot and looks very impressive (especially the clasp). I received the bag amazingly quickly and with no issues at all. The communication was excellent. I have a few bags from Missy Mao Mao and would always highly reccomend them.

A tree change, a lifestyle change and a love of creativity = MissyMaoMao Vegan bags

I always wanted to make everything I owned. I imagined that I could learn how everything was made. I could learn how everything came about and I could surround myself with the things I have made or designed or collected. There are simply not enough hours, days or weeks in ones life time to make everything. I had to settle on something. After some experiments I settled on making bags. I dabbled in a real shop and then I set up in my city home, designing, making and selling wholesale. Eventually my Melbourne home, a little two bedroom Victorian cottage became too small, so I made a tree change. I found a big old house that needed renovation in country Ballarat. That was just over ten years ago now. The house is sort of grump and crocked in parts and spick span new in others. When I first moved in I set aside one room as the studio. Now MissyMaoMao was expanded to the front half of the house and I live in the back. My lovely cat, Lucinda whose nickname Missy Mao Mao became the inspiration for the brand, passed away last year. She is buried in the front garden next to her dog Edith. We now have a new team here. The two little black toy poodles are security and a little grey pussy cat pops into the studio daily to inspect the going ons.
The MissyMaoMao brand has expanded to include Mr Mao Vegan which will be new to the Etsy shop in 2018

Missy Mao Mao bags are all made by Marilyn Cardinal in her studio in Wadawurrung Country, Ballarat, Australia. Marilyn studied fine arts majoring in printmaking. Her love of textiles started when she was a child.
