And so the journey begins...

The journey started after many years of making, creating, painting and drawing.
As a child I loved being outside through the seasons in all weathers in the leafy woods, exploring the rolling fields or foraging along the shoreline. I guess I never grew up this is what I STILL so today and share with my two children.
I also love snapping photos to share on Instagram (search themistletoeoak) something that for me is like my online journal of ideas to revisit.

A few years ago I started out on here as Tree Hedgewytch and then Mistletoeoak. My many journals of ideas and boxes of foraged and collected treasures gradually turning into paintings, cards, pendants, felted fairies and more. What I love is how on Etsy I can share what I love and see, even more exciting I can share on a global scale. Many items have traveled to the US, Australia, New Zealand and even Russia!

The best bit is everyday I find a new 'something' to capture, draw, paint, create or store away for a make on another day. When you look closely around it always amazes me the hidden patterns and designs that are waiting to be found. For example, the unfurling of a fern, the pattern in a fallen branch or the the fossil inside a pebble that has freshly broken open on the beach. Even better, when I combine these into one piece such as my popular combination cluster pendants, a whole story and meaning can be created. There are also some fun items too :)

I also carry out commissions and freelance assignments. Please contact me to discuss your needs, or feel free to pass my details on to someone you think I may be able to help.
