*A note about the quality of my components: I am extremely picky about the quality of gemstones I use. I will return some to sellers if they are poor quality. If unreturnable they are just not used in my work.
I do my best to use only quality metal in my work: sterling silver, solid brass, solid copper, solid pewter, etc. I do use gold-filled because of the inhibitive prices of gold components. If a piece has a plated piece I state that it is (some charms, vintage).*
Please note: I use only Genuine Natural Gemstones.

All orders are handcrafted and shipped from our smoke-free Smoky Mountain based studio and pieces are stored in an environment to minimize tarnish to the materials but almost all metals tarnish naturally which I personally love and can be rectified with a polishing cloth if desired.
Please note that when I use vintage metal findings & components in my designs, some natural tarnish, patina & wear is present that adds to their beautifully unique character.
Natural fractures do occur within certain gemstones, and this is not indicative of damage but is a characteristic of natural (non-synthetic) stones. We do our best to represent these characteristics in our photos as accurately as possible.

My journey as a jewelry artist began many years ago and has evolved over time with influences from nature used to make my own components for my designs in various mediums. In glasswork I naturally moved toward organic creations. My etched copper designs are floral and organic. I try to emulate the subtle color shifts of florals and greenery in my mala and jewelry designs as well.
My talisman jewelry is all about connection to nature...the energy and beauty within the mountains, lakes/rivers and forests. I find I need this in this increasingly hectic, manufactured lifestyle: a link to the timeless peace of stone, light, tree, earth, water. There is a beauty and a healing power in the serenity of nature when I am still and listen.
I have always felt a connection to the earth and nature. My bond to nature began in upstate New York with it’s rich green and soft brown woodlands, peaceful gentle streams and rocky bottom glacier-made lakes. This is my love and I try to only use natural materials. My focus is on simple, natural supplies: natural gemstones, found and curated talismans, natural leather cord, solid copper/sterling silver/gold-filled wire and components.
When creating a piece I gather items and I begin to see the materials that will work for this creation, the process and the shape the piece will take. For me it is intuitive: I don't sketch or plan things out. The materials speak to me. The impressions I get from colors, size and textures, the warmth of copper/ silver components for the project.
For me the art of creating jewelry is a delicate and subtle process, one in which the slightest alteration in a color, surface, or shape can change the appearance and feel of a piece entirely.
I find that it is a matter of listening to the materials as they guide me into creating jewelry that bring pleasure and joy.
My intention is to make jewelry and malas that you find beautiful to look at as well as make you feel beautiful to wear. I want you to feel good wearing it and want it to be a source of beauty in your life.

CARE & REPAIR
I care deeply about the quality of my work and want you to be very happy with it.
I wear what I make to ensure that it is comfortable and sits well.
I do everything I can to make my pieces as solid and durable as possible.
Should a piece break in the course of everyday wear I will do my best to repair it...but do be aware that many components are unique and irreplaceable but could be changed out for a different piece.

If you have any questions at all, please ask!
Thanks and blessings,
Patti

My Joy

My journey as a jewelry artist began over 20 years ago and has evolved over time. I use many mediums that I love to combine to make a finished piece. Influences from Nature are used to make my own components for my designs in: glass, polymer clay, precious metal clay (PMC), as well as ceramic and etched metals. Found objects, talismans from afar, metal work, my lampwork beads, wire working, seed bead work all join together to make the whole.

My love of nature began in upstate New York with it’s rich green and soft brown woodlands, peaceful gentle streams and crisp, rocky bottom glacier-made lakes. I roamed in the green places behind the house where I grew up collecting rocks, stones, special sticks, found feathers: bits and pieces that spoke to me. The rustling of the trees overhead as the wind played in their branches, bird calls in the distance. It mesmerized me, lulled me with earth's soft voice, to a place of peace. The greens and browns of the soft mossy places called to me: it's where I found life, serenity, spirit. The form of all living things is spirit. We interact on a spirit level with all of nature.
When creating a piece I gather components and I will begin to see the materials that will work for my inspiration, the process, and the shape the piece will take. This is usually vague, more feeling than form, and I never make drawings or plan things out other than gathering colors, textures and sizes of components.
The materials themselves also speak to me. The gemstone's energy emitted and the feelings I get from colors and textures, gemstone's energy, the warmth of copper/patinaed silver components molded to the project. The art of creating jewelry is often a delicate and subtle process, one in which the slightest alteration in a color, surface, or form can change the appearance of a piece entirely. I find that it has become a matter of listening to the materials before me as they guide me into creating forms that evoke the most ephemeral and elusive impressions of the earthen landscape.
