Announcement Welcome to my Etsy shop, S. Lochet Designs! My philosophy in everyday life as well as my business is to be surrounded in beauty. I love combining the mundane and the everyday with the beautiful. Pretty fabrics and gorgeous colors make me smile! My specialty is custom aprons and doll dresses, but I also enjoy creating various gifts and accessories using my leftover fabric scraps. Most of my creations are one-of-a-kind, as I tend to just make whatever I'm inspired to create at the moment, but I also enjoy collaborating with my clients to come up with that perfect custom product. I can sometimes do reproductions of earlier creations depending on fabric availability, etc. Feel free to send me a convo, whether it's to come up with a new creation together or to see if it's possible to recreate something already sold that you loved!

I strive to exceed expectations with every item I make, no matter how small. I want every person who opens a package from me to feel as if they are opening an unexpected gift, one that is clearly made with love.

Giant Polkadot 1950s Inspired Halter Apron

Must be in the blood!

Although I grew up around it, I didn't learn to sew until I was in my mid 20s, and now I just can't imagine my life without it. I have fond memories of seeing my Mom sew as a child, as well as my aunt and my grandmother, and I loved sitting in the fabric store looking through the pattern books and dreaming of garments yet to be made. For some reason, though, I never asked to be taught myself!

Fast forward 20 years or so, when one year for my birthday I got a sewing machine, and fell in love. I was hooked! Due to my slightly neurotic fear of patterns, once I graduated from pillows and curtains, I mostly made aprons I designed myself - first just as gifts, but then, surprisingly, I started getting requests to make them for money. I got kind of addicted to the thrill of designing and creating something with my own two hands, and actually being paid for it! So I decided to set up shop on Etsy, and I've been so pleased with my Etsy experience. Every year I learn more and grow more through my small business.

My philosophy in everyday life as well as my business is to be surrounded in beauty. I love combining the mundane and the everyday with the beautiful. Pretty fabrics and gorgeous colors make me smile!
