Beautiful! I purchased this as a gift, and now want one for myself. Very nicely made, even the hook on the back. Thank you for a very positive shopping experience, and creating a gift that will be treasured by my friend.

I bought this same piece (in orange & red) for a gift in December and loved it so much I ordered myself one. I didn't hang mine on the wall... it sits on a shelf and is the centerpiece of the shelf unit. So beautiful and so unique.

corporate interior designer turned fired into fired glass

In 2006, I left a stable and successful 15 year career as an interior designer of corporate interiors to move up in a new environment. After a year, this new company was bought and merged with a second. I suddenly found myself unemployed and felt very helpless. At the time, I felt like this was the worst thing in the world to happen to me. It was a very difficult time.
I made some calls, and started teaching Interior Design at Mesa Community College. They offered a tuition waiver to Adjunct Faculty if they were interested. This opportunity allowed me to start taking fused glass classes at the Mesa Arts Center. I had always loved fused glass and collected it, but while working 50 to 60 hour weeks, I never would have had the chance to learn how to melt and create with glass. Ten years earlier, I had purchased a kiln from a retired art teacher. I had the kiln...but I feared burning my house down or "making a mistake".
Having the glass studio, I can be a stay at home mom, artist, and continue to teach part time for higher education in my field of design.
Now I own 3 kilns, have built a glass studio, and added another child to my family. Had I not been "fired", I would have never moved forward with my life. It truly was a blessing in disguise....from being "fired", to turning the kiln on to be "fired".

    Owner, Glass Artist

In 2006, 2 companies merged, and I found myself unemployed after a successful 18 year interior design career. This opportunity allowed me to follow my dream of learning to fuse glass. I am a stay at home mom, glass artist, and designer.

I create handmade art glass crosses and gallery art pieces. I work from my multi-kiln studio in GILBERT, AZ...where I can be near my family and work from home. Doing what I love and being home to raise my 2 precious boys is a dream. Thank you for shopping my Etsy site. merritt

In the unlikely event that your piece arrives broken, send a picture to me at Merritt [!at] Depending on the situation, I will replace the work as closely as I can. Each piece is made by hand and will depend on what color sheet glass or glass frit I have on hand.
Additional policies and FAQs
I guarantee all of my work against breakage for a minimum of 90 days.

If a glass "bead" should detach from an earring back or bracelet blank, an adhesive called E6000 may be used to reattach the glass to the metal. E6000 is readily available at craft stores. I use a special glass/metal adhesive that typically does not allow the glass to detach, however, occasionally if a bracelet is bumped just right against a surface, a bead could detach.

All glass dinnerware, shall you accidentally break it during usage, will be replaced at 50% of the sale price for up to 1 year after purchase. Glassware is food safe and dishwasher safe. After the 1 year period, contact me for additional information. I typically photograph or create patterns for all of my work and may be able to recreate your piece for you.
