Absolutely gorgeous tile with texture and colors/shimmer that are even more lovely in person. Very nicely framed, and professionally packed and shipped. I'm delighted both with the piece and the overall communication and transaction experience from this seller - A+ all around. Thank you!

About

The act of creating art is a powerful way to express my feelings of life.

My interest in art developed early on in life. The act of creating art is a powerful way to express my feelings of life.
I realized my affinity with clay and the earth. I developed a profound interest in clay, more specifically Raku pottery. My work in Raku is heavily influenced by natural forms and lines, which I then bring into my pieces. My focus has been in traditional form as well as the development and mastery of a wide variety of firing techniques. This expertise allowed me to develop ceramics that utilize ornate shapes and vibrant colors.
Enjoying the challenge of being self-taught, I have worked successfully in a wide range of mediums including: acrylic, watercolor, pastel, Photography, Raku pottery and glass Sun-catchers for over 25 years.
My tiles are entirely hand crafted. They are not formed in a mold, rather each tile is cut individually from a hand rolled slab of clay. The designs are then drawn or pressed into the clay while the clay is soft and glazed after the first firing. Glaze options are limitless and after it is applied the tile is fired once more.
My passion for classical imagery in my artwork has been cultivated from my Mexican heritage and my travels through Mexico. During this time I have worked in figurative, realism, and abstract styles
