I am based in Ludlow, UK and I have been painting and exhibiting professionally for many years. I make fine art prints and cards from my original paintings. Commissioned work and custom orders are also carried out.

The original work is painted in watercolour and mainly miniature. Many are embellished with 24 carat gold and silver. Fine art prints are hand finished on archival paper with a touch of gold or silver watercolour to pick out the detail and to give them a little spirit of the original watercolours. Some of the prints have both watercolour additions and 24 carat gold and silver embellishments added by hand.

Brushes used are generally 2/0 to 4/0 on high quality watercolour paper, both for original work and hand finished prints.

I walk in the outdoors often and I collect children's books with magical illustrations by Victorian illustrators. Arthur Rackham and Edmund Dulac are favourites. I still love reading myths and fairy tales - they don't all have happy endings - they are often quite frightening, or even absurd, but there is much truth and beauty in them.

I am largely self taught. I studied foundation art at Shrewsbury College of Art and then Countryside Conservation at Aberystwyth. More recently I gained an MA in Fine Art from Hereford College of Art. I make other more concept led work, but here I simply enjoy working in an illustrative style.
