Hi! Welcome to Modern and Vintage. So glad you're here.
I'm Wendy, I opened Modern and Vintage in 2009 after I moved to England from France. I'm not French though, (originally from South Africa) but lived there for a few fabulous "Oh la la" years , rounding off more than a decade of globe-trotting. I began to put down my roots in this peaceful seaside town I now live in when I married my lovely English husband.
My focus, with this creative enterprise is to create practical, useful items bursting with quirky character and a dash of pretty, that bring a smile in day to day living. I love whimsy and nonsense and firmly believe we need more of it (and more magic) to lighten the daily nitty-gritty of life.

Case Sizing Details
Each case is made to order, and is made to best fit your device according to the options you specify from the Device and Hard Case dropdown menus.
The phone sleeves fit quite snugly - if you would prefer a looser fit for your phone sleeve, then this can be specified in the 'Note to Seller' at checkout.
NOTE: If you specify that you use a matte rubbery case, or one with a soft grip texture, then the sleeve will be made looser/larger by default so that your phone can still slip into it easily.
Tablet cases are padded with 5mm foam and are a little more roomier than phone cases .
How long will it take before my order is shipped?
Most items take between 1 to 3 days to be made. Everything is handmade to order, from scratch. Nothing is kept in stock.
Your order will be posted on the day it is made.
Some items might need a longer making time and this will be clearly stated on the listing and in the shipping info.
How long will my order take to reach me after it has been posted?
Orders are posted from the United Kingdom, using Royal Mail.
If you reside in the UK then it usually takes between 1-2 business days.
If you are outside the United Kingdom: international post from the UK takes, on average, between 1-3 weeks, but sometimes a little longer than that.
Unfortunately, it's impossible to guarantee a delivery time as many uncontrollable factors can influence it, from delays in your country's Customs office, to local weather issues en route.
Can I change the shipping address after I've placed my order?
If you've paid using a credit or debit card - yes. Please send me a message using the Etsy convo system.
However, if you've paid via Paypal then the delivery address cannot be changed. To alter the shipping address you will need to cancel your order, change the Paypal address details and then repurchase using the correct delivery address.
What happens if my order is damaged or lost in transit?
DAMAGED ITEMS: will be replaced or refunded.
Please notify me in writing within 14 days of receipt of the item. Please take photos of the product and the packaging, clearly showing the damage and send me the photos through the Etsy convo system.
LOST ORDERS: will be replaced, unless the item is no longer available, in which case a refund will be made.
Items are considered lost after the following time period has passed:
UK: 15 working days from posting date.
Europe: 27 working days for posting date.
International: 32 workings days from posting date.
(Working days are Monday-Saturday).

How do I return an item?
Return procedure differs for local and international orders.
Please contact me before returning anything so that I can give you all the details about how, and where, to return the item. Thanks!
Will my item look like the photos on the listing?
However, due to the unique nature of handmade items, please allow for small variations, especially if you order more than one of the same item.
Fabric with obvious patterns may have differences in the pattern placement, and free motion stitching lines on appliqued designs may also vary slightly from item to item, but this will not affect the overall look of the design.
As colours can vary widely between computer monitors please contact me if you are unsure of the colour.
How do I clean my item?
The mix of fabrics and materials used means that they should only be gently spot cleaned and not immersed in water.
Gift wrapping and packaging
All items are prettily wrapped in white tissue paper and patterned washi tape, and tied with red twine by default. If you would like extra gift wrap and a little gift tag included, please specify this in the note at checkout.
How do I personalise my case?
Simply write a message in the note to seller at checkout, specifying the name or short phrase that you would like printed onto your case.
