M A T E R I A L S: I am committed to using sustainable fibers and fabrics whenever possible. I primarily use handwoven natural-fiber fabrics for my pillows, and for apparel I seek out eco-friendly, organically and/or conscientiously produced cellulosic fibers (cotton, bamboo, rayon, linen.)

CONTACT with me is via convo-email. I conduct all customer service inquiries via convo-email only, since I am a one-woman studio without support staff or a telephone answering department.

OPTIONS for CLOTHING ORDERS:
S I Z E: I make all women's sizes, from small to plus sizes. Please convo me with your dimensions as described in each listing.
ALTERATIONS: If you decide to just provide a generic retail "off-the-rack" size instead of custom fitting measurements, the fee for alterations to down-size your garment is $12.00 plus shipping. (Up-sizing is not possible, so please provide your measurements to avoid disappointments.) **Alterations are provided at no fee if you DID provide your measurements and an obvious error was made by me -- just contact me if that were ever to happen!

COLORS: Starting in 2010, my color line includes naturals, earth-tone neutrals and stain-dyed tea colors. The stain dyes have a bit of mottling and each batch is a little different, but all are beautiful! Until my new color chart is available, specify as follows:
Offwhite/natural (undyed)
Sepia (earthy beige)
Chai (pale, creamy tea)
Black tea (taupe-earth)
Green tea (hint of khaki-green in your tea)
Coffee (earth-beige)
Mushroom (deep brown-gray taupe)
Black (commercially dyed)
Gray (commercially dyed, silvery-medium gray)
Custom Tints: Specify pinkish, greenish, blueish, lavender-ish, yellowish -- these are earthy pastels, in which I overdye the tea-stains with a touch of fiber-reactive dye

S T I T C H I N G: All inside and any exposed seams are serged. For exposed seams, specify whether you want self-color or a contrasting accent color of white, black, gray, orange, azure, spa/sage green

D E L I V E R Y: For all custom clothing, allow 10-14 business days. Rush service is not offered since every order is handmade.

A Note About Color: We're all familiar with the usual disclaimers about color and different monitors. I try to capture color and texture as accurately as possible. Please ask questions if you have concerns or special needs pertaining to color.

OOAK's are one-of-a-kind, ready-to-ship unique pieces that I may only make once and not offer again. Look for OOAK in the title. They can often be downsized but not made larger.

Your satisfaction is mandatory! Please convo me within 24 hours if you receive something from ModernEraDesign that you feel doesn't meet my policies or your instructions to me. **Any special fitting issues that you do not provide to me are not covered for refunds, however, so please be thorough in providing your body measurements.

Please contact me within 24 hours of receipt of your item if you wish to return or exchange it. A refund of the purchase price will be made for unused items received back in my studio within 7 days of our communication. Shipping charges are not non-refundable.

Paypal, within 24 hours of purchase. Please convo me if your payment will be delayed beyond 1 day.
Shipping
Shipping of stock items is the following business day after payment is received. Made-To-Order items are shipping within 10-14 business days or sooner if possible. Insurance is included in my shipping charges. Remember that transit time varies-- usually from 3 to 5 days for domestic US deliveries.

Internationl Shipments: I charge for transit from the US to your destination plus handling fees. Duties or customs fees charged are the responsibility of the buyer.

ABOUT HANDLING FEE for OVERSEAS SHIPPING:
The time and cost required in the US to mail an international package must be factored into the shipping cost, since Etsy doesn't provide a line item for "handling" on their invoice.
*Explanation: While domestic shipments require nothing more than printing a label and popping packages into the nearest secure postal box, overseas shipments require an ordeal that takes over an hour of time and a half-gallon of fuel. Specifically, for overseas shipments, our beurocracy requires filling out a three page form and presenting the paperwork with the parcel in person at a government post office. It takes 60-90 minutes from door-to-door to accomplish the task.

TURNAROUND TIME IS TYPICALLY 12-15 BUSINESS DAYS (excluding weekends and holidays.) Seasonal backlog may vary, so please convo me it you have questions.

ALL ORDERS ARE 100% CUSTOM MADE and I depend on you to provide as much information as you feel is necessary in the “message to seller” box when you check out.
PLEASE PROVIDE YOUR MEASUREMENTS AS FOLLOWS:
All sizing requires body measurements AND your retail size just for reference.
1. Chest... The measurement is taken around the middle or widest part of breast (this is NOT bra size!)
2. Waist... at the smallest point.
3. Hips... at the widest point ( needed for pants, longer shirts and dresses ).
4. Inseam for pants or capris....from crotch to hem.
5. Arm for sleeves.....measure from armpit along inside of arm to the wrist with arm hanging straight down at side of body
6. Length of dresses...measure from top mid-shoulder down to bottom of hem.
7. Stature...are you tall or petite? long or short waisted? Broad shouldered? Please tell me!
8. RTW Size - Your retail “off the rack” size....this is just for general reference!
9. Any other dimensions you feel are critical to optimizing the fit for your!
SIZING: I can work with measurements up to 48". For plus sizing measurements beyond that, there is a surcharge for fabric so please convo me about that.

Recommended washing instructions: Machine wash cold water. Line dry. You may also air dry in dryer ( no heat ) before line drying to delint, take out wrinkles and soften.

Everything I make is custom. There will be slight variances in every piece, as I do not use commercial patterns and sizing charts. Some fabrics will have more or less of a ruffled edging than pictured. Fabric weight varies depending on what the mills have to offer.
