Lovely work, and the fabric is soft and just perfect for a pillowcase! It arrived smelling faintly of spices, like it just came from Santa's workshop! I like it so much, I am going to order more!

Welcome. Browse. Enjoy. Convo me if you have any questions or you just want to throw in your 2 cents. Mostly, I sell sewn items such as bags, mittens, children's items, and quilted items like baby quilts, wallhangings, etc. However, I enjoy making a variety of things, so come back often. Hard to say what you'll find the next time! I also do a lot of crocheted items throughout the year, and at Christmas time I make a variety of items that use vintage Christmas pictures. One of the constants in my creative life is upcycling and/or repurposing.

REPURPOSING: To repurpose something is to “rehabilitate” it so it can be used for a new or different purpose. It’s fun to find an absolutely fabulous sweater that has a hole in the sleeve, and turn it into a gorgeous, shabby pillow. A beautiful skirt that no longer has a working zipper might become a fantastic bag. The advantages of repurposing, besides the fun and challenge of creating something new from an otherwise unwanted item, are many: You save items from being dumped in a landfill. You give new life to a vintage item that can no longer be used for its original purpose. You help maintain ties to the past. Your newly fashioned “gem” has a history---a story all its own. I can’t tell you how many people are fascinated by the idea that the fabric used in my own wool mittens is over 60 years old, having been repurposed from a nurse’s cape worn by my mother in the late 40’s. I find that the materials I find in my journeys through the vintage and second hand shops are more interesting, and often better made, than what I can buy brand new.

When you buy a repurposed item from me, you can expect it to be clean and ready to be used, displayed or worn. You will know what I’ve done to repurpose the item, and I will list any obvious wear or imperfections, so you know exactly what you’re getting. I always include care instructions. Your newly repurposed treasure will have its own story and character, and whenever possible, I include any background information I have about the materials I’ve used.
