Trouble always begins with idle hands and bored minds... at least in my lifetime it has. To prevent 'trouble', since I'm too old and tired and have too many kids that rely on me, I've had to keep my hands busy, busy, busy.

MoL Gifts & More was born out of the desire to remain productive and busy while on maternity leave. The venture started off slowly with upcycled books made from cardboard packaging rescued from the recycling bin. I quickly learned a bit about copyright/trademark law and, instead of looking for a loophole to sell my upcycled items, I decided to switch paths completely.

While working my 9-5 job, a coworker re-introduced me to the world of LEGO® and I quickly regained my love of the small plastic building blocks and figures. I was lucky enough to have someone show me the ropes of finding reliable suppliers and extremely lucky to have been in contact with the people at The LEGO® Group at an early stage to guide me in their "fair play" policies. I loved them before and I definitely loved and respected them more during and after those conversations.

What started out as heart necklaces quickly (and I mean quickly) mutated to earrings, rings, keychains, cufflinks - all still quite standard with a few added features thrown in. Although keychains are a major part of MoL Gifts, the real test of skill and creative fulfillment is in the design and creation of those pieces that I can truly call my own... the clocks, the bookmarks, the bracelets, some of the earrings and necklaces.

I'd like to issue a 'shout out' to my precision drill that uses teeny tiny drill bits that seriously hurt when you slip and drill through your finger - without you, I would be nothing.
There are no electrical devises used - sanding, filing, cutting, drilling are all done with hand tools.

I've learned so much from some truly amazing artists here - what to look for in jewelry findings (aka. the difference between cheap crap and the good stuff), all about glue (and glue remover for those dastardly 'oops, I glued my finger to my lip' moments), how to use resin, and the list goes on. The most important thing I have learned as a business woman is that to succeed one must constantly adapt and thrive for betterness (it's a word if I say it is a word :P ). Consequently, although it may take a while for new product lines to appear in the shop, there is always something new brewing at the desk so keep an eye out for exciting ventures (hopefully) into art prints, t-shirts, tote bags, and paracord accessories.

Anyways, I'm a geek. Not as big as a geek as I'd like to be - I don't memorize quotes or statistics.. I just know that I love LEGO®, superheros, villains, Doctor Who, aliens, mystical marvels, Battlestar Galactica, Firefly, movies with explosions, and ZOMBIES!
