About

Momiji Studio

I taught myself to quilt in the early 1990s, and I quickly fell in love with Japanese fabrics. Traditional Japanese textiles were difficult to find in North America at that time, and they were prohibitively expensive. But now, thanks to the internet, I have a steady supply of vintage kimono and bolts of gorgeous kimono fabrics for making modern fashion accessories that delight the hand and eye with their textures, colors, and designs. More recently, I became an indigo dyer, and I use Japanese shibori techniques to explore the endless possibilities of blue.

Shipping
Items usually ship within 3-5 business days, normally by Canada Post. My rates are based on estimates of the actual cost of shipping and packing materials, and I will refund any significant excess charges (over $2.00). Customers outside Canada and the U.S.: Packages that weigh over 500g usually need to ship by surface mail (4-6 weeks), unless you wish to pay extra for airmail. U.S. customers: Postal service from Canada to the United States usually takes 1-2 weeks, but the possibility of customs delays means that arrival times are not guaranteed. I occasionally mail packages from Washington state, when orders coincide with my trips to the U.S.

Please note that non-Canadian customers are responsible for any taxes or customs duties.
Refunds and Exchanges
I want you to be happy with your purchase! If you are not satisfied, please return it in its original condition within seven days, and I will be happy to refund the purchase price of your item. Please note that you will still be responsible for the cost of postage. Also, custom orders sometimes require a non-refundable deposit that cannot be returned.
Additional policies and FAQs
I cannot always accommodate custom orders, but it doesn't hurt to ask. Sorry, but I am not taking wholesale orders at this time.
