MONOCHROMATIQUES - Handmade porcelain jewelry from France
Monochromatiques is a collection of porcelain jewels and accessories that are completely handmade at my studio in the countryside near Paris.
Each ceramic piece is unique: it is hand-shaped, then fired at 980°C, glazed with a brush or by soaking, and finally re-fired at 1,240°C, which makes it vitrified and robust. I also work with metal, using different techniques such as the lost wax casting.

Is porcelain fragile? / Est-ce que la porcelaine est fragile?
Not more fragile than the coffee mug you handle everyday day without specific care! If you step on it or let it fall to a concrete ground, it may break... But for the smaller pieces like earrings, the ceramic is too light to be damaged when you drop them.

Pas plus fragile que la tasse à café que vous manipulez sans soin quotidiennement! Si vous marchez dessus ou si vous la faites tomber sur un sol en ciment, elle peut être endommagée... Mais pour les pièces les plus légères comme les boucles d'oreille, la céramique est trop légère pour casser.
What is the difference between ceramic and porcelain? / Quelle est la différence entre la céramique et la porcelaine?
Ceramic is the art of firing clay. You have 3 families of ceramic clay: earthenware, stoneware and porcelain.
Porcelain fires at a very high temperature (up to 1,300 °C - 2,400°F). It is particularly tough, strong and translucent in comparison with other types of ceramics, mainly because of its vitrification.

La céramique est l'art de la terre cuite. Il y a 3 familles de terre : la faïence, le grès et la porcelaine.
La porcelaine cuit à très haute température (jusqu'à 1300°). Elle est particulièrement dure, résistante et translucide en comparaison avec les autres terres, notamment grâce à sa vitrification.
Care instructions
You can wash your porcelain jewel with water and soap, scrub it gently with a tooth brush if necessary.
If any metal is in contact with water, dry it carefully with a towel. You can also polish it lightly with vaseline.
Avoid wearing your jewels under the shower, while doing the washing up or at the swimming pool.
Always keep your jewels in a dry place!

La porcelaine se lave à l'eau et au savon. Vous pouvez aussi la frotter doucement avec une brosse à dent.
Si le métal rentre en contact avec de l'eau, sécher le avec une serviette. Vous pouvez polir légèrement le métal avec de la vaseline.
Eviter de porter vos bijoux sous la douche, en faisant la vaisselle, ou à la piscine.
Entreposer toujours vos bijoux dans un lieu sec.

I go to the post office every day or every 2-3 days (business days).
For international orders: the shipping times vary and can take between 1-6 weeks.
I always provide a tracking number so you can follow up the shipment.
