Making Forgotten History Chic Again!

Welcome to Mon Petit Chou Boutique! Our shop is filled with beautiful handcrafted silverware jewelry that is modern and chic but also refelcts the history of years gone by.

Mon Petit Chou is a french term of endearment that translates into english as "my little cabbage".... sort of like calling your wife your little darling. :)

All items are made by us, a husband and wife team for life, Jim and Troy-Leigh. Two kids and 23 years of marriage later, it just keeps getting better! We enjoy spending time and working together - most of the time. ;) She gets to be the beautiful artistic brains and he gets to be the mysterious man that wields a mean hammer. Of course the nosey supervisor of our shop is our beautiful great dane, Phineas.

We take great care in selecting the most beautiful silverware pieces that we can lay our hands on. Our shop is always changing. We are always listing new items as we get new spoons from various silver dealers from all over the world. One hot tip though, if you love it... buy it. I can never say when I might stumble across that pattern again.

Our first love has always been the 19th century victorian era silverware. It's so ornate and luxurious. Of course vintage pieces catch our eye too! We love sharing the history of our jewelry with you. Many hours are poured over old books looking for the pattern name and year. We make every effort to identify every piece we create. Knowing some of the history makes the bracelet just that much more special.

Our goal has always been reusing and recycling bits of pieces of history. We try to use every piece of the silverware... spoons, forks and sometimes knives. Nothing goes to waste! We often get asked why we cut up such old beautiful silverware and the answer is very simple. Most of the silverware we use is not really considered table worthy anymore. Most people want gorgeous, perfect and pristine pieces to use at the holiday dinner. Grandma's random mix of silver pieces are often forgotten in a drawer. We love dusting them off, polishing them up and giving that neglected piece of history worth again. It's all about the antique charm.
