About

A Traveler's Treasure Trove

As long as I can remember I've been traveling, and tucking away treasures I've found along the way.

These are silks and bones and charms; whatever is striking or rare, whatever has a story.

Such treasures become the materials and centerpieces of my artwork. Because they were so singular and unusual in the first place, they cause many of my pieces to be irreplaceable and one of a kind.

I've been making jewelry for over 20 years, first out of paper, and then moving onto wonderful, found objects and simple smithing. I accumulated such a collection that I decided to start selling my work and some of my more interesting finds to collectors and those with an eye for the wild.

I love the act of creation, and I love creating WITH people, so if you've an idea you'd like to work on, please feel free to contact me for a custom commission.

I'm sure we'll find something to delight and awe.

Hello, Welcome to Monson Designs; a specialty store for one-of-a-kind, jewelry, costuming and prints. Please think of this as a caravan stopped especially for you.

I've been collecting silks, metals, bones and delights from all around the world for the past 15 years, often tenderly transporting a special item across thousands of miles and borders so that it might find its way into one of the designs I wish to offer you. I've been designing jewelry for all that time and my work has drawn its inspiration and materials from these many places and cultures.

I pride myself on providing you with exceptional, hand-crafted, tribal-nouveau design, and making sure you have something which will always strike you as truly special and unmistakably yours.

Also! All proceeds will benefit my 'Motorcycle Trip of Epic Awesomeness.' Over the course of a year my partner and I intend to ride through South East Asia, collecting unique materials and life-experiences that will allow me to keep designing and producing garments, adornments and images for you.

Thank you for your support! Enjoy shopping.

Payment
I am presently only accepting payments through PayPal. If this is impossible for you, please contact me through the Esty system and we can explore alternatives. Taxes are included in the price advertised.
Shipping
Your purchase will be shipped within 1-2 days of receipt of payment M-F. If there are extenuating circumstances, you will be notified via Etsy's e-mail system.

I've included a few dollars in the cost of shipping to send your package certified mail so that I can track it. Almost all of my work is one of a kind so it would be very sad for us both should it be lost. I always appreciate a note that it has arrived safely and any feedback you have.

If you are purchasing or shipping internationally: Please note that buyers are responsible for any and all duties and customs charges that may be incurred.

*ANIMAL PRODUCTS: Due to customs restrictions I will only ship and sell items that contain animal products (specifically teeth, bones, claws or unique leathers and fur) within the United States. Please check your country's restrictions when it comes to feathers.
Refunds and Exchanges
As my pieces, particularly the jewelry, are often impossible to replace due to the unique materials, Monson Designs does not offer exchanges. I will accept returns and issue a refund only if the item is undamaged or there is a clear mistake on my part. When I receive the return, I will issue a refund of the full cost, minus charges incurred by the initial shipping. Please note that the buyer is responsible for the cost of shipping returns.

By charging a few extra dollars to track your package, I endeavor to make sure you get it. In the unlikely event that it is lost, I am sorry to say I do not offer refunds or replacements due to the rare nature of my goods. Please make sure your destination address is a safe place to send a precious package!
Additional policies and FAQs
Please note that if your item is one-of-a-kind, it may arrive with small scratches or dings which are natural to a life well lived by antique Tibetan silver or vintage bling. I make every effort to send you my best and examine each item for damages or faults before it leaves my care. If you are truly unhappy with your item, you may return it to me, post-marked within 3 days and I will issue you a refund minus shipping and handling. For more information on this, please reference the Returns section above.

Custom Orders: I love them. I also charge half upfront to protect my business from whim. This includes illustrations for print, tattoo designs, jewelry and costuming. If you have an idea and time to hash it out, please contact me, I would love to create with you. It is enormously fun for me.

Gift-Wrapping: Gorgeous packaging using unique papers, ribbons, feathers and flair? Yes, please. If you would like your item/s gift-wrapped please make a clear indication of your desire and add an additional $7.50 to your purchase for Each Item you would like wrapped, otherwise I will place them all in the same package. Please let me know of any special wishes and I will do my best to grant them.
