About MontanaInStitches
Montana In Stitches handmade knit, sewn, and quilted items.
I'm thrilled to welcome you to Montana In Stitches (formerly Knit My Pants)! You will find handmade knit, quilted, and sewn items ranging from scarves to keep you warm, weighted blankets to keep you calm, and quilts to keep you cozy. I love making the items you will find in my store and always make things I would use myself.
I find my inspiration everywhere: my friends who named my store, my family who supports me, and perfect strangers wearing and using items I love. One of my biggest inspirations is my grandmother. She made beautiful things. She knit, crocheted, sewed, and made ceramics. I was in awe of her crafting ability. When I was six years old, she taught me how to paint a ceramic vase and how to make a single chain crochet. I remember making a chain measuring 26 feet! Unfortunately, my grandmother passed away soon after and we weren't able to continue our craft lessons.
I like to think that at least a little bit of my grandmother's craft ability lives on within me. When I was looking to try something new, I picked up a book and taught myself to knit. My knitting has come a long way since my first, simple piece 15 years ago but I will always consider myself a student always looking to learn a new stitch or technique. I've picked up sewing and quilting over the past few years and starting to write patterns. I'm always looking to make things that have utility and style.
I knit and sew for many, many reasons. I knit and sew because it's fun and I love that I'm constantly learning new things. I knit and sew to relax. I knit and sew to feel the satisfaction that comes creating something from scratch. I knit and sew to make people feel warm and cozy. And I knit and sew to feel close to my grandmother. I hope you enjoy.
