Slow fashion. Simple living. Mindfulness in the art of sewing.
Sew Liberated began in a drafty adobe house on a street without a name in rural northern Mexico. The year was 2007, and Meg was working as a Montessori teacher in a one-room schoolhouse. With no internet, television, or phone line, Meg spent much of her time honing her sewing and knitting skills. Eventually, she began selling patterns based on her designs and started a blog. Meg and her partner, Patrick, later moved to Durham, North Carolina and started a family.
Meg has authored two sewing books and taught a class on Craftsy, but her favorite activity is being a homeschooling parent to her three young children. In her spare time, she enjoys creating clothes that flatter the constantly shifting bodies of mothers.
At Sew Liberated, we design sewing patterns that are simple, artful, and you'll feel good wearing. We believe that sewing is as much about the process as the product, so we create our patterns to be accessible. We want you to find your place of peace when your machine starts to hum.
