Announcement   Beautiful handmade pouches and wonderful early reading materials. Everything is handmade by me.

An important part of the Montessori philosophy is to attract the children to the work; these beautiful items do that. One teacher had the following experience after presenting an old work in her new pouches: "After a small group lesson, one of my boys told me, 'This is the best, ever!' "

I put a great deal of effort into making these wonderful pouches for you. I use three different sources to find the large variety of colors all in the same elegant tiny vine pattern. The pattern is beautiful but small so it attracts the children without distracting from the work. The variety of colors allows you to choose something that coordinates with the work inside; for example plant work would go wonderfully in the green pouches. I also work very carefully when I make the pouches. If a pouch (or other material) does not meet my standards then it is sold as imperfect. I absolutely want to know if you have any quality issues in the short or long term.

It is also important that the children know what is inside the pouch so I have developed various ways to indicate the contents they will find inside. On many of my pouches I use a high quality fabric paint pen to write words in print or cursive (when requested). I have also started drawing simple pictures on pouches as well. My newest item is three-part card pouch. The most popular version is the style with a vinyl pocket on the front. This pocket allows you to slip in any card or picture that will tell the child what is inside. This lets you add something beautiful and change the contents of the pouch with ease.

I keep my prices as low as possible by shopping carefully for my raw materials and being efficient in my work. I always welcome ideas for materials you would like to see available and special orders. Please realize that special orders for items that I don’t typically make may seem expensive because I cannot work as efficiently or buy in bulk for these items. While the pouch you want may be the same style I already make it takes me time to calculate the new fabric size, cut that new fabric size and sew a small grouping of pouches. The fewer variations and colors you request the lower the price will be.

Early reading is an important and finding the right materials is essential. My early reading materials coordinate with Muriel Dwyer reading program because that is how I was trained. I offer my reading materials finished (reading to use), unfinished (printed on cardstock for you to finish any way that you choose) or as PDFs.

Thank you very much for looking at my store and taking the time to read this far. I hope that you are happy with what you have found, feel comfortable asking questions and find ordering easy.

Thanks,
Shawn

My guarantee: If you have any issues I am happy to exchange the product or do what I can to make you happy.
