Saving the creative me with sewing!
My name is Trish and moody cow designs was started by me when I realised I needed to bring the creative back into my life!
Born back in the 50's, the eldest of 6 children, making do and mend featured a lot, as I grew up I was always making things ,I learnt to knit, crochet, sew, did cross stitch and tapestry, made rugs and baskets and even wrote poetry.........I ran away from home once and even had time to pack up my knitting, didn't get very far, was soon found!
As I got older life and work got in the way and crafting stopped being important, then one day the place where I was working was throwing away some fabric swatches ,lovely swatches of upholstery linen and it came to me that they would make fabulous bags, had never made a handbag before but by the end of my next day off there it was in all its glory and I have been hooked ever since….I still use that very 1st bag!!
I kept designing and making them and friends wanted to buy them so moody cow designs was born. ................I then discovered purse frames and made some little coin purses as presents and they became my new passion, along with teabag wallets, emery board sleeves, fabric covered mirrors with felt pouches and needle cases and whatever is still in my head waiting to be designed and created. Most of the items in the shop have been made to my own design, it always amazes me when things turn out like the picture I have in my head!
I am like a kid in a sweetshop when I find a fantastic fabric shop!! I am inspired by fabric but also love working with felt and have a slight obsession with ribbon and buttons!
Owner, Maker, Designer, Curator, Coffee Maker And Cake Baker!
I love to sew! I am inspired by fabrics, love colour and am slightly obsessed with buttons! If not sewing, then baking, grandchildren and travels in Miss Daisy, my campervan are all high on the list of things I love.........
