5 out of 5 starsI've never used a loofah that was grown on a farm, I've always used to colorful plastic ones from the store. I'm never going back. I love that I can put it in the compost when it's worn out, and that the farm doesn't use pesticides!

About MoonBeamFarmStore
Loofah, Loofah, Loofah and of course Yummy Lavender!
MoonBeam Farm is a small organic family farm nestled on ten acres in the fertile valley of Northern California, just outside the town of Corning. Located right off Interstate 5, we are 15 miles south of Red Bluff and approximately 110 miles north of Sacramento.
Our two specialty crops are Loofah Sponge and Lavender. Our seeds and plant stock are organic and non-gmo. Our Farm is also Chemical and Pesticide Free.
For the health of the bees, our plants, and YOU!
MoonBeam Farm is one of the few organic heirloom growers of loofah sponges in the USA. We grow our loofah from our own harvested non-gmo heirloom seed-stock, tending to our plants by hand each and every day, ensuring the sponge available to our clients is at it’s peak. Our sponges are so soft, they can be used on a daily basis. There is a significant difference between organically farm grown loofah and those you purchase in the stores. Those hard-as-a-brick store bought loofah, are required to go through a treatment process before being imported into the country, leaving you with a product that is so rough you wouldn’t dare put it to your face. You simply need to feel and experience the difference!
During the late spring and summer season (June—Sept), we are open for farm tours so you can experience first-hand how loofah is grown and harvested.
Loofah Sponge is not only for bathing, but can be used to wash windows, dishes or even the car. We have also been selling loofah to many of our equestrian friends, who use it for rub down and massage on their wonderful four legged friends.
Along with our Loofah, the farm also has over 1,100 Lavender plants. With more than 8 varieties, our organic plants are grown for Oil, bud and culinary use in mind. With breathtaking colors ranging from the crisp and icy white to the deep purples reminiscent of the French Countryside. 2017 was our first year to allow many of the species to come to full bud, having harvested during May to mid-June. The show of color and scent was amazing and it was wonderful to share this experience with our visitors and neighbors here at the farm.
You can purchase a variety of handmade and handcrafted items, such as soaps, bath salts and milks, bombs, lavender products and crafts, local artisan wares and of course our wonderful organic loofah here at our farm country store as well as our on-line storefront at www.MoonBeamFarm.com

Frequently asked questions
How do you make Loofah Sponge?
Loofah Sponge is actually grown. It is vining plant that can grow up to 25 feet long. The vine produces the loofah from beautiful yellow blooms.
Is Loofah Sponge edible?
When the plant first produces the loofah, yes it is edible and commonly known as Chinese Okra.
How long does it take to grow a loofah sponge?
It typically takes between 90 to 120 days for a loofah sponge to be ready to be harvested.
How many plants do you grow per year?
We typically grow around 4,000 plants per year. Loofah sponge is an annual which we replant each year from our own organic seed stock we harvested from the previous years plants.
Are your loofah sponge and lavender organic?
Yes they are. We use no chemicals, pesticides, bleach and/or lye with our products. Nor do we force the loofah through a compaction shaping process to make the perfect circle shape. We leave everything the way mother nature intended. A wonderfully soft product that's safe to use each and every day.
COVID - We are not accepting physical returns at this time.
At present due to health requirements in our home, we are not accepting returns. However, if you do have any issues with your produce, please reach out to us and we will more than gladly assist you. Wishing you many Blessings from the farm.
