About MoonflowerMinis

Sales 173
On Etsy since 2018
Video summary: Here is a video of me creating a miniature evergreen tree from a bottlebrush craft tree and lycopodium moss. You won't find a more realistic tree because the branches are made from REAL plants! Convo me for a custom listing.

Specializing in 1:12 scale Japanese and English style miniature floral designs and other mini collectibles.

I am a small business owner living in the gorgeous Oregon countryside. I grew up with a fantastically creative father, who taught me everything from woodworking, to gardening, to building model trains. It was he who hand-built my first miniature dollhouse in 1982 (a Duracraft San Franciscan 550 which I am currently restoring).

When I began to restore this dollhouse, I quickly realized that the miniatures world was lacking the type of floral arrangements I wanted. After searching fruitlessly, I decided I have the skills to make my own miniatures. I have been making them ever since.

At Moonflower Minis, I specialize in natural miniature floral designs. Everything I use is non-toxic and ethically sourced. I also draw from my artistic background to offer miniature origami, micro thread crochet, punchneedle rugs, tiny paintings, custom furniture, and more.

ART BACKGROUND, FLORIST TRAINING, AND AWARDS
At university I minored in Art, working mostly in pottery, life drawing, and oils.
After becoming formally trained at the Floral Design Institute (FDI) in 2003, I opened my florist business, Flora Luna Designs.

My floral designs were accepted into three separate juried "Floral Design As Art" shows hosted by FDI. In 2005 I won the Juror's Award with a custom 5-piece modern design I called "Ikebonsai" (a portmanteau of Ikebana, or Japanese floral arrangement, and bonsai). Using fresh flowers, florist's tape, wires, branches, and a little bit of magic, I constructed "living plants" that never existed in the real world.
