Announcement    Thank you for choosing to visit my shop. I’m a mixed media artist creating wearable art jewelry from my original artwork. I began making jewelry as an exercise in learning to let go of my paintings and discovered I really enjoy the entire process of turning one piece of art into a different piece (or pieces) of art.

My work incorporates acrylics, pastels, colored pencils, pen and ink, printmaking techniques and collage on canvas and mixed media papers. I create layer upon layer of color, marks, and writings, all of which are inspired by the people I meet, my dreams and my love of patterns and textures, particularly where the natural and human made worlds intersect.

Once the artwork is complete, I cut it up and carefully handcraft the cut pieces into earrings, necklaces, and beads.

I use a chipboard base for my jewelry pieces, which gives them a bit of structure while still remaining light, and each piece has my artwork on both sides. I embellish some pieces with beads made from my artwork and occasionally use purchased beads. All pieces are sealed with satin polycrylic.

What I love about my wearable art is that although originally part of a larger artwork, each piece of jewelry has its own story to tell and it is the wearer who brings this new story to life.
