Examples of some custom pieces and one of a kind pieces can be seen on my website www.mvdesigns.com .

As a self employed artist for the past 40 years I have etched and engraved in a variety of mediums. For almost twenty years I was a professional printmaker and my etchings were sold in galleries across the United States and abroad.

About 20 years ago, I developed a way to use my former scrimshaw experience to carve and engrave on a man-made material. Using techniques of sculpting, engraving, casting and hand coloring I created a line of jewelry, clocks, wall pieces and ornaments under the name Moosup Valley Designs.

I also love to make one of a kind scrimshaw pieces using deer antler, amber, and mother of pearl! Watch for new additions!

Arrived quickly and what I expected! I bought one of these many many years ago - it's so nice you are still selling these. They are so beautiful and full of a kind of lightness of nature.

Beautiful and finely done work. It came with a lovely giclee print card in a similar theme, which was a nice bonus as this was for a gift. Perfect!

About

I've always been a detail fanatic!

Being fascinated by detail I've been involved in intricate drawings, engraving, scrimshaw and etching ever since I can remember. This obsession has propelled me into becoming a self employed artist for all of my working life! For over 35 years I have traveled up and down the East Coast selling in Art and Craft shows and have wholesaled to many fine galleries and shops here and abroad. At last with the advancement of online selling possibilities I can now slow down the pace and spend more time in the studio! Etsy is my favorite venue since 2008.
I have etched and engraved in a variety of mediums. For almost twenty years I was a professional print maker and my etchings were sold in galleries across the United States and Europe.
About 18 years ago , in need of a change, I developed a way to use my former scrimshaw experience to carve and engrave on a man-made material. Using techniques of sculpting, engraving, casting and hand coloring I created a line of jewelry, clocks, wall pieces and ornaments under the name Moosup Valley Designs. These works have also been sold across the United States and Europe.
As time allows I also love to make unusual one of a kind pieces in various materials. Deer antler, mother of pearl, amber, etc. will appear in my shop- check back for new pieces often!…

Hello! I'm pretty much a one person operation (except for some help on the casting) doing all of the sculpting, engraving, hand painting, sanding, polishing, assembling, packaging, shipping and marketing myself. Whew! When do I sleep!

  • Bill Feeny

    Caster

Bill owns a small casting company in Mass.and is wonderful to work with. He and his great crew take the models I have made and do the raw casting in resin. Then it's up to me to do all the rest! (finish work, inking, hand painting, etc, etc.)

Production partners

  • resin caster

    Fall River, MA

This small company casts their own line of products and does some casting for a few other artists like myself. They are capable of making finished products but I prefer to do all of my own finish work. They are very cooperative.
