Art By Terra Serrano

Burnt Hills, New York

Announcement    Welcome to Zahar Studio, home to unique mixed media art items handmade by Terra Serrano. Each item is one of a kind, and my listings are subject to whatever mood and muse I am indulging at the moment. You'll find beautiful, sassy, fun, whymsical, magical, and out-of-the-norm items available to purchase.

I have always been drawn to explore the macabre, the spiritual, the unusual, the wild. Utilizing interesting media, exploring texture, finding odd uses for supplies, and allowing ideas to coexist in both my head and my artwork lends to my signature style. I specialize in working with plaster, metals, paint, and encaustic/wax mediums.

I continue to be a student of my world, delving deeper into being, breathing in life and transferring my passion into everything I create.

Zahar Studio is the conceptual embodiment of my artistic journey.
I hope you enjoy the art I feature here! Check back often as designs change frequently.

Please be sure to read my shop policies BEFORE you place an order!

BARTERING: I am open to trading! If you see something you like, and think you have something I would want, send me a message!

Refunds, Returns, and Cancellation Policies:

Because all of my designs are handmade and one of a kind, I will only accept returns on a limited basis. Your items are guaranteed to be well-made and to the specifications that were described in the listing. There will be slight differences and imperfections in each item that add to its charm and value and are part of the handmade process. All items are photographed and described to the best of my ability.

I will only accept a return under the following two circumstances:

*The craftsmanship of the actual item is poor, i.e. the item is falling apart, or the item is damaged in any way when it arrives. You will have a 48 hour time frame to let me know if you are unsatisfied with the quality of the craftsmanship after your order arrives. This 48 hours is based on the date of delivery supplied by the USPS Delivery Confirmation services.

*The design of your item is different than what was present in the picture or description representation of your item. Note that this does not include the small discrepancies that make each item handmade and unique, but an overall design flaw or wrong shipment.

If either of these circumstances occurs, please email me and I will give you further instructions for processing a return.

Additional policies and FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions:

What is the difference between a Custom Design and a Limited Design?

A Custom Design is available to order. It is a request for art that you place, asking me to create something special for you. When placing a custom design order, we will communicate on the details of your design and the projected time-frame for creation, as well as a projected shipping date. Custom Designs are priced individually and based upon the request. Custom Designs, once shipped, are non-refundable.

A Limited Edition Design is a pre-made item that is available for immediate purchase and shipment. There is usually only one available and will probably not be reproduced. Get these while you can because you most likely will not see them again!

How can I order a Custom Design?

Please contact me if you are interested in ordering custom artwork items.

What does it cost for a Custom Design?
The price for a Custom Design will vary. I calculate a price based on the design requested, the amount of work that it will take to complete the design, the size, materials used, when you will need it completed, etc. After you contact me to request your design, I will provide you with a quote.

Do you charge for rushed custom orders?

Yes, rush orders will incur an additional cost. To rush an order I will be placing your order in front of any others that I already have. So that this does not affect the quoted ship date of my other orders, I will be working extra hours to finish your order. The standard fee for a rush order will be $25 unless I have an excessive amount of orders at the time, usually right before holidays, at which time the rush fee will be determined based on the number of waiting orders. My rush fee will always be updated on this site. Also, if you choose to have your order sent Express Mail (overnight) by the USPS, you will incur the charges for this service.

Do you use recycled materials?

I try to use recycled materials and found objects in many of my designs. I believe that using found objects adds a special touch to my art, and helps our environment at the same time.

What does handmade mean?

As pertains to Zahar Studio, handmade quite simply means I do everything by hand. One person is making your item. I do use tools, but nothing is ever made by a machine. Each individual item is designed and assembled by my own two hands.

Do you keep my credit card information?

No. When you choose to use a credit or debit card for payment, your payment will be processed through Paypal. All of your information will be submitted to their secure site to complete your payment. I will never see or have access to your payment information with the exception of your name and address, which I need to ship your items.
