The charmeuse has such a delicious shimmer, and I love these colors. I now have an option in this color combo that doesn't show snowflakes in June. Nice edging and speedy delivery, too!

About

Hand Painted Dyed Silk Scarves for Women, Silk Neckties for Men

* Note to silk lovers: Always be sure you are buying good quality silk; avoid habutai weight, because they tend to be flimsy and do not drape nicely. I don't deal with habutai!*

I love rich silks and the effects that can be achieved with fiber-reactive dyes; I spend most of my time working on new designs or searching for new inspirations. Each scarf or necktie is a completely original painting, signed, and one-of-a-kind.
Nature's colors and forms never cease to inspire. Most every day I can be found with my dogs out in the woods and fields near my home. I am fascinated with plant forms, but positive / negative space is at the core. I never use digital tricks, because I don't know any and don't want to.

You can read my Featured Artist Interview, which is old enough to be obsolete. What hasn't changed is my work ethic. I am living my second life hard at play, fingers stained with dye, and completely absorbed in a new design experiment.

Many people buy my scarves as gifts; I gift wrap at no extra charge and send it right to him or her so you don't have to. Fussing with details is my specialty!
I design, create, pack: Actually, I do it all with help from nobody else.

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards

Payment
I do take personal checks, but am not a fan of money orders. Let me know if you need an alternative payment method to PayPal.
I generally ship same or next day, and don't bother with details like taxation. If you change your mind, please understand that shipping charges are your responsibility. Exchanges are okay with me.
Shipping
I box, tissue, and ribbon my orders, and include a care instruction card.
If you would like your scarf insured, please email me before payment. I have never had a scarf lost in the mail, and would not want to.

For orders within the US, I use first class mail unless otherwise directed. International orders go first class international.
Refunds and Exchanges
If something happens to the box in shipping that is neither my fault or yours, I cannot automatically refund you. However, this is subject to conversations between us both to settle the issue. It has never happened to me (yet).

Care instructions

Fiber-reactive dyes bind chemically with the fibers and are
permanently vibrant. There is no residue; scarves are hand washable with shampoo and conditioner, just like your hair. Air dry and never, ever bleach. Neckties must be dry-cleaned, because they have a polyester insert to retain shape.
