I use .999 fine silver because I feel it makes the best finished piece. There's no firescale, so no need to use chemicals to remove it. It hardens when hammered, and its malleability is better for details such as stamping, knots, or textures.
Here are the places my handmade jewelry has gone. The silver bar ring is catching up to chevron for bestseller!

About

small batch jewelry - handmade in West Seattle

I have loved making things since I was 8 years old. My friends and I would bend paperclips into earring hooks. I had a rock identifying book and would hunt for gems in my backyard. My mom crocheted a bag for my "specimens."

Since then, I've graduated onto finer materials. I use traditional jewelry making techniques to turn precious metals into simple and modern rings, earrings and necklaces.
