Top shop for gifts.

Buyers bought gifts from this shop and gave them 5-star reviews!

Announcement    Welcome! Here you'll find original paintings and reproduction prints, with the emphasis on abstraction, often with elements of landscape. I hope you find something to enjoy.

I ship internationally on a regular basis; most orders take between 1 and 2 weeks to arrive, but currently may take longer due to possible changes to delivery services in your country. I've sold around 350 paintings and prints online since 2008, mostly to customers in the States, but also in many other countries; so please buy with confidence.

Paintings may be reserved for up to three weeks. Prints up to A3 size are also available. I can make prints from most paintings, so if you can't find the print you'd like, just drop me a line and I'll try my best to meet your requirements. Prints are available from 16 x 11 inches down to 5 x 7, with a few exceptions.

Framing: All paintings and prints are sold unframed and without mat/mount. I have found that customers prefer to handle this side of things themselves locally. Feel free to discuss your requirements with me though, always.

If you are a returning customer (and if so, thank you!) please remember your permanent 15% discount, applied at checkout.

Thank you so much for your support; it's the most wonderful thing.

On Etsy since 2007

Happiest when painting.

I found etsy around 2006 when searching for Mid-Century Modernist jewellery. Whilst exploring the site it eventually struck me that I might open my own shop, despite being the reserved, hates-blowing-her-own-trumpet type. I have fibromyalgia and also don't drive, so a web shop seemed the obvious option, and I'd never before seen a platform that seemed such a good fit for my needs. I loved the clean design, accessibility and rich variety of makers and stores that I was discovering. Another key factor was the strong sense of a lively independent creative community, crossing geographical borders; this was new and exciting to me and I wanted to join in! At first tentative, I began with a small number of paintings and jewellery pieces - as I was trying out silverclay/PMC at the time, but painting was opening up worlds of imagery and ideas and became seriously smitten with oil paint! Seeing other artists selling abstract work on etsy was exciting. Gradually people found and responded to my work; the returning customers being the most heartening and precious of all. I'll be forever grateful for the support and encouragement I've received from both art patrons and fellow artists and the connections made in the last ten years of selling art online. It's still a real conundrum, trying to work out how to describe abstract art so that it will find its perfect home! Yet, since 2009 I've sold pieces in a broad range of styles and formats, which suits me, as I've never been able to stick to one style or method of working. I work very spontaneously and intuitively, without any rigorous ongoing conceptual plan. Certain methods, preoccupations and motifs develop naturally in this mostly improvised work. Midcentury Modernism, Surrealism, Jugendstil and abstract landscape are recurring preoccupations. Flower shapes and floral abstracts are intriguing me at the moment, and along with painting knives I now frequently use tiny flat brushes.

Returns and exchange details
A seven days cancellation policy applies from date a customer orders an item. This extends to fourteen days if you are within the EU.

For larger, heavier or framed paintings, on rigid supports, sent to destinations outside the UK, all sales are final, due to the cost of shipping internationally.

If an order is lost in transit, or inordinately delayed and fails to arrive within 60 days of shipping, I will issue a full refund.

If you receive a damaged item, please either return it to me immediately, enclosing the original wrapping with the item, or if you prefer, send photos of the damaged items via etsy Conversations or email, and I will issue a full refund on request.

Please note: Items must be returned via a service which has tracking and recorded delivery. Return shipping costs to be paid by the buyer.

If there is any other problem with your order, please contact me straight away.

EU Directive on Consumer Rights:
If a buyer exercises their right to return an item, a seller must reimburse all payments, including the original shipping charges, received from the buyer. If a seller has not received returned goods from a buyer, the seller may withhold such reimbursement provided that reimbursement occurs within 14 days of receipt of the returned goods. The buyer is responsible for paying return shipping costs unless the seller has agreed to bear those costs. If a seller has not agreed to bear return costs and the item can't, due to its nature, be returned by post, an estimate of the return costs should be included in the information provided to the buyer relating to cancellation and return.

Sellers must also provide buyers with a model withdrawal form (in other words, a cancellation form) that they can- but are not obliged to- use if they wish to return a product.

Below are links to a model withdrawal form.

IMPORTANT: Please ensure that your Paypal address matches your current Etsy address provided, otherwise delay is inevitable as I have to check which address the item is to be shipped to.

If you think your Paypal listed address may be different from the one you listed on etsy, please let me know where you wish the item to be delivered when ordering, in the note to seller at checkout, or via etsy conversations. Thanks!

If, when ordering, you encounter any difficulties with payment, please contact me.
If I hear nothing, any outstanding orders will be cancelled and the item relisted after 3 days.

RESERVING LISTINGS
I am happy to reserve items for a limited time (usually two weeks).
Shipping
Covid-19 update:
UK couriers and postal services are running with reduced staff and this is resulting in some delays. All delivery guarantees are currently suspended.
Parcel Force have however now reinstated their ‘Large’ services.
Some international courier routes have been reduced.
Please be aware that due to a reduction of transit routes and increased border controls, delivery is now taking longer than normal. Most courier companies have now introduced new procedures where customers no longer need to sign for parcels.

Orders are shipped as soon as possible after cleared payment is received, any requested finishing applied, and items have been carefully packed.

Existing items will be taken to the post office within a few working days of cleared payment being received, unless illness or emergency prevents it.

Sometimes a few extra days for finishing are required, for example newly painted edges needing to dry, or simply that the painting is very recent and still needs time to become touch-dry. This may mean waiting up to 2 weeks before shipping is possible. I do not, as a rule, varnish paintings.

I have fibromyalgia, a fluctuating neurological condition, which may cause a short delay in processing your order if I'm going through a rough patch; however this should only delay shipping of your order by a couple of days at most.

If it's more convenient for you to have your order delivered to your work or other daytime address, please let me know in the note to seller at time of ordering.

If when sending your order I find I have overestimated shipping costs, I will refund the difference to you via Paypal within 48 hours.

Proof of posting is obtained for all items.

I send most smaller, lightweight items via Royal Mail's Standard International Airmail service. Items sent this way should not usually take more than two to three weeks to arrive. However currently due to Covid-19 and at busy/ holiday times they may take longer to reach you.

Royal Mail's stated aim re. Airmail: "The day after you’ve posted your mail, it usually takes three more days to reach Western Europe, four days to Eastern Europe and five to seven days to the rest of the world." From personal experience however I would expect items to take a few days longer on average, and certainly longer at times of peak use.

IMPORTANT - PLEASE NOTE IF YOUR ORDER IS NOT RECEIVED:

Following Royal Mail's expected delivery date, international deliveries are not notifiable as lost until after 25 working days (outside of Europe) or after 20 days (within Europe).

To ensure expedited shipping, ie Tracked and / or Signed service, (which includes priority handling, online tracking and / or delivery confirmation) please select the shipping upgrade option at checkout.

RE. CUSTOMS/DUTIES/TAX AND INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS:

For buyers of original fine art, resident in the USA and Europe:
You will not be charged customs duty for original artwork.
You may, however, be charged VAT or sales tax.
Although I haven't experienced any problems so far in over ten years of selling on etsy, I would request that you check your country's policies re. customs fees and duty taxes before you buy.

International customers are responsible for ensuring that goods are acceptable in their country and for payment of all local taxes, customs duty, processing and import fees.
Postal delivery times exclude the time for customs processing, which the customer may need to arrange.

FINE ART:

Paintings are sent from the United Kingdom either flat, sealed in strong reinforced packaging, or rolled in a strong sealed triangular postal tube.

Shipping is via Royal Mail Standard International, which is untracked, for smaller works on canvas/ paper/ board, or via International Tracked/signed for/recorded delivery service, depending upon whether the regular or expedited shipping option is selected at checkout.

International deliveries are not notifiable as lost until 20 working days (25 if the customer is outside Europe) after the Royal Mail expected delivery date.

REPRODUCTION ART PRINTS:

The largest A3 size prints are sent To UK addresses flat in protective paper, in a cello sleeve, with at least one foam wrap layer and backing board in a custom reinforced corrugated cardboard mailer. Larger prints ordered from outside the UK are shipped in a sturdy cardboard tube. Protective paper, a cello sleeve and foam wrap are enclosed to prevent movement and damage in transit.

Smaller A4, A5 and A6 prints are sent in protective paper and clear sealed sleeve in a smaller sturdy flat cardboard mailer with backing board.
The smallest prints cost less to ship; this is reflected in their base price.
I guarantee to refund any postage overcharges within 48 hours of ordering.

If ordering outside the UK, prints are by default sent untracked via Royal mail Standard International service, with proof of posting obtained. The package should arrive within two to three weeks. During busy times and/ or holidays they may take longer to arrive.

As with paintings, international deliveries of prints are not notifiable as lost until 20 working days (25 if the customer is outside Europe) after the Royal Mail expected delivery date.
