This is an amazing, beautifully crafted piece of jewelry. Came exactly as photographed. I have received many compliments in the one day that I wore it so far. I plan to shop here again!

I was shocked how little time it took to receive this necklace! It is perfect, exactly as shown and described. I love it! Would definitely order again from here!

About

It’s all about color

The need to work with my hands has been my lifelong passion. I remember the pleasure I felt helping my grandmother sew dresses for my dolls or learning my first steps in knitting. Years passed by and curiosity led me to experiment with other techniques. I participated in several crafts workshops and started creating pieces, aiming to do nothing more than fulfill the desire to express myself. I devoted many years to Papier Maché: mirrors, bowls, toys; the list goes on…

Some years ago I made a beaded bracelet and when a friend saw it, she encouraged me to keep doing it as a business which I did successfully. Gradually I started adding other accessories to my inventory such as necklaces, hair barrettes, tote bags… That is how Motu Proprio was born.

I like to experiment with materials and textures, looking for the aesthetic side of each object. I use felt, wool, different kinds of fabrics, wire, beads, leather, orange peel… but I also recycle materials originally used for other purposes, as sweaters, bags or cardboard boxes. Although form and material guide my work, color is the engine that drives my creativity. Color is the momentum behind my work, it’s what really inspires me and allows me to play in an endless search for innovative combinations.

Even though I have a degree in Business Administration and I work full time as a software consultant, it is in the world of arts and crafts where I found a way to express myself. It is where I am really at ease.
