For sanitary and health reasons, most of the items I sell cannot be resold.

You really would NOT want a "used" soap sack or set of dishcloths. A lot of people are squicked over the thought of just seeing a hat modeled on a person, much less someone else having used and returned one before they purchased it.

All of my carefully hand-crafted items are closely inspected for possible defects before being listed for sale. Accordingly, a buyer will have no need to return an item for defects in its making.

"Not as described"? This also not applicable. All of my lovingly handcrafted creations are described accurately.

"Doesn't fit?" Sized item listings include accurate measurement information. For hats, I give exact dimensions AND refer potential buyers to a website where they can obtain accurate measurements of the wearer's head. I am available to discuss sizing before a purchase is made, and will make custom-fitted items upon request.

U.S. orders of $10 and over are insured at shipment.

The processing time for "Ready to Wear" and "In Stock" (not "Made to Order") items is 5 business days after payment is received. A slight adjustment may be needed to the date Etsy sets in order to coordinate taking multiple outgoing orders to the post office.

I offer Rush Processing as a separate listing - for an additional $10 per order - for those who need their items sent out sooner. This covers the additional costs that I incur for shipping an individual order separately. Note that this does *not* upgrade the shipping method chosen at checkout. Buy Rush Processing here:

Buyers are now able to choose shipping options of First Class, Priority Mail, and Express Mail at checkout. These options do not affect my processing time.

Payment of customs duties and/or import taxes is, by law, the buyer's responsibility.

Customs forms will always be filled out accurately and honestly.
Please do NOT ask me to commit fraud by falsely claiming an international shipment as a "gift".

I am not responsible for delays due to customs.

Etsy does not price shipping for multiple-item orders with perfect accuracy. If it works out that I have undercharged your shipping cost, you will NOT be asked to pay the difference. Any overpayment of 50 cents or more will be refunded after your order has been shipped.

Having said that, please do keep in mind that "shipping costs" are more than just the cost of the postage stamp. My shipping fees include a charge per order (not per item) above the actual cost of postage in order to pay for the associated costs of a mail-order business. This amount is minimal (see "No Frills Packaging" discussion below) and results in the best value for my buyers. This is included in shipping/handling rather than in the item price so that I may have identical item prices in person and online.
Additional policies and FAQs
I offer "No Frills Packaging" in the shipping of orders.

When necessary (such as for barrettes) bubble wrap is carefully secured around the item. If not, your items are lovingly placed within a manila envelope which is securely taped before mailing.

Some people seem to expect that *~*all*~* Etsy orders will be gift wrapped, tied with ribbons, have a whole bunch of extra free gifts included, and/or shipped in boxes rather than envelopes. If I were to do this, both the item costs and the postage costs would have to be higher. I prefer to concentrate on giving you a QUALITY item at the BEST possible price. I don't choose to focus on things that will be thrown away within seconds of your opening the package or on gewgaws that may not suit your taste.

For gifts, I have found that buyers prefer to be able to inspect the item before gift-wrapping it themselves. However, I do provide direct-to-giftee shipping on request and can certainly "fancy up" the No-Frills packaging accordingly ... including gift wrapping. Please contact me BEFORE ordering and we can discuss how you'd like your gift to be presented. There will be an additional charge for gift wrapping.
Your information will never be sold or shared or talked about with anyone.

The only exception is discussing your shipping address with the carrier in the event of a non-delivered order.
