Announcement
Welcome to Mountain Mist Fiberworks. Thank you for stopping by! All products are handmade from my original designs. If you have any questions about the items, please convo me for more information.
*** Please note: I will be out of town for a few days, and have de-activated my listings, with the exception of my digital patterns, which I have left active for your convenience. Please stop by later in the week if you are interested in seeing my handmade products.***
All products are created in a smoke-free and pet-free environment (though I have lots of fiber around!).
Also available in my shop are patterns for some of the items I make, which are available as digital downloads. So if you would prefer to make your own, check my pattern section to see what's available. I am constantly writing up patterns for new items, so keep checking back if you are looking for a particular pattern that is not available yet. Better yet, convo me to let me know if there is a particular item you would like to make yourself, and I will add it to my queue of patterns to publish!
If you have not bought an item on Etsy before, here is a tutorial that will walk you through the process:

I hope you enjoy browsing through my shop, and that you will come back often. I am always working on new projects, so check back for new items!

5 out of 5 starsSeller made a custom scarf for me. She reworked an existing pattern to accommodate thicker yarn and it turned out beautifully. Her work is top notch, a master of her craft. Thank you very much . . . I LOVE IT!

5 out of 5 starsSo comfy and warm. The yarn is really soft and an upgrade from regular crocheted shawls. Nice and thick and the spaces are the perfect size for winter. I will be back!

5 out of 5 starsBeautifully made. Doesn't give me hat hair when I'm out seeing clients; but keeps me warm!

5 out of 5 starsI got the prize! Just the vintage look I wanted. The artist made this for me using a vintage (1960's) booklet of crotchet patterns that I sent her. She sent me quite a sample of crocheted yarn to see how it would feel and hold it's shape. She sent two other pieces of yarn as well. Great communication, every step of the way. She even washed it for me. This increased my confidence that I can care for it properly.

5 out of 5 starsThis is truly a work of art. Artist mailed me samples of two similar periwinkle colors so I could choose. Very high quality yarn. I love the keyholes along the edge . Looks divine.

Rainbow Wheel Tam and Chain of Diamonds Scarf
From Fiber to Finished Fabric
I had two talented grandmothers...one made delicate, lacy crocheted doilies and warm comfy afghans, and the other knew many needlework techniques, and taught me the basic skills of knitting, crochet, crewel embroidery, sewing, and tatting, as well as gifting me a floor loom built by my grandfather. After I was married, I had the time to explore these techniques and make them my own. I soon discovered that there is great fulfillment and joy to be found in creating one's own designs. I also learned to weave on my grandmother's loom, and through weaving had the opportunity to learn to spin and felt. Although many of my products are made from commercially spun yarn, it is such a great feeling to start with the raw fiber and control the entire process through to the finished product!
About ten years ago, I began making items to sell at small local fairs and festivals. I design all the patterns for the items that I make, and each product is made by hand, by me. Some of my products are one-of-a-kind, and some I make multiple times. All products are created in a smoke-free environment. A few years back, I began writing and publishing some of my knitting and crochet designs, and this has become a key element of my business.
I owe a great debt of gratitude to my grandmothers, who inspired and taught me!

I love all kinds of fiber crafts, including (but not limited to!) knitting, crochet, weaving, spinning, felting, beading, embroidery, and braiding. Most of all, I enjoy creating my own patterns and techniques. I am continuing the needlework heritage passed on to me by my grandmothers.
