I purchased the adorable Erin the Elephant hair stick for my mom for Mother's Day, and I couldn't be happier! The piece is wonderfully high quality (such attention to detail!), and it shipped with plenty of time before the big day. Mom was absolutely THRILLED with Erin, and I can't tell you how grateful I am to MountainMusings for helping me with the perfect gift. Thanks a million!!

About

For the Love of Hair

My shop was born out of a desire to share my hair accessories. At first, I was just making them for myself and people kept asking me where I got them or if I'd consider making more of them. And then I found Etsy and I thought--why not?

So I took a tiny little nest egg and made a few hair sticks. And then I made more sticks. And then I started making hair flowers. So here I am, a few years later and I'm still making hair sticks and hair flowers--and I'm still in love with it!

I'm not sure what it says about me, but I thoroughly enjoy folding flowers and coming up with new bead designs. And I hope I enjoy it for years and years to come.

Payment
We greatly prefer paypal or etsy direct payment for the time being, but if paypal or etsy's direct credit card checkout isn't something that works for you, please don't hesitate to contact us to work out a different payment arrangement. We'd hate for you to miss out on an item that you loved.
Shipping
Buyers from Italy, please note that our products are on the prohibited list for things that may be shipped to your country, which means we will not be able to ship to you and will have to refund your money.

Packages will be shipped first class USPS unless you select a different method. Hair accessories will be packaged in bubble wrap or tissue paper and shipped in the appropriately sized padded envelope or box. We pack as economically as possible to keep our product costs down.

As of January 2016 we have switched to calculated shipping for all items and destinations due to rising postal prices. Please contact us if you would like insurance and we can discuss pricing (usually 3$ for orders under 100$ in the USA or 25$+ for international orders). We will insure all orders of 75 dollars or more for free within the USA, unfortunately insurance is such that we cannot provide it for overseas purchases.

Please be aware that we cannot mark a package "gift" for shipping purposes if a package is going overseas. Lying on customs forms is a crime in the USA and we could face major fines or even jail time. Customs/import fees are the responsibility of the buyer, so please be aware if your country has VAT or anything similar.
Refunds and Exchanges
If you've purchased something and didn't want to, didn't mean to, or if you decide you don't want it, please contact us immediately so that you can be refunded. We send out notifications of when a package will ship just as soon as we receive the notification that a purchase has been made. If an item ships before we receive word that you have changed your mind, you will have to return the item before we can provide a refund. Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer unless specific arrangements have been made.

If you are displeased with your purchase, please let us know. We will refund an item if it is returned to us within two weeks of buyer receiving the item and if item is in its original condition. If an item does not arrive or arrives damaged let us know so we can attempt to work out an arrangement for the item to be repaired or replaced. Large custom orders are subject to special rules, please see the Additional Info section.
Additional policies and FAQs
Please note that our items, while occasionally cutsey, are not intended for small children. Our flowers often involve small parts or are even very small themselves which could make for a choking hazard.

We will do custom orders for kanzashi and hair sticks (when possible). All custom orders require a deposit of 50% up front, the rest to be paid at the time of the item's completion. Custom orders are non refundable unless the item is defective.

Please be aware that we retain the right to re-make custom items for other customers, or simply to offer in our shop. Designing and assembling pieces takes a good deal of time, effort and planning on Maegan's part, so even if you come to us with a general concept, we still own the right to the finished product. We would have to sell exclusive or one-off items for many times the price of a standard item within the shop to even make them a viable business model.

Please take a look around our shop and our sold sections to see what you like. It is a fairly good example of Maegan's abilities. We can always make a large custom kanzashi clip or add more flowers but the bobby pins are as small as we can go. Also, if you visit our facebook photo page and look under Past Kanzashi (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Mountain-Musings/358143783244?v=photos&ref=ts) you can see pieces Maegan has made but are not available in the shop at the moment.

Also, please note that though Maegan does not smoke she does own a cat and cannot guarantee that a product is free of all allergy inducing agents.
