Announcement   Thanks for visiting MoxieRox!

My name is Heidi... and I LOVE to work with precious metal clay! Here in my Etsy shop you will find a nice collection of my handmade jewelry with a variety of colorful beads and baubles used as accents. I often use lampwork or ceramic bits made by some hella-talented fellow Etsy artists.

Let me know if you are interested in a custom design! I'd be more than happy to work with you to create something totally unique!

About my process:
I primarily use precious metal clay, which is a material that is made up of reclaimed fine silver particles which means that the fine silver metal is 100% recycled. Each and every item that you find in my shop has been hand-crafted with love by myself in my little home studio in Leesburg, Virginia on the outskirts of the Washington, DC metropolitan area. I take pride in using my own handmade templates and textures.. and my own hand-carved stamps. I may sometimes use hand-carved stamps that were purchased from other talented artists here on Etsy.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to send me a convo and hopefully I can help!

Please check out my shop policies for shipping times and other important information that you may find useful before placing an order. You can find these here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/MoxieRox/policy

I am also on Etsy as MoxieMosis, which I use primarily for purchases and will hopefully (eventually) list some of my drawing and painting work:

You can find me on Facebook:

...and I occasionally post pictures on Instagram:

...and... If you live in or around the DC metro area... I am happy to offer classes, please feel free to inquire! ;)

Welcome to my online Etsy shop! I am an oil painter and artist and my handmade jewelry shop is yet another extension of my creativity! :) I work in precious metal clay which, after firing in my kiln, becomes solid fine silver. I use handmade textures that I have hand-carved, molded, or designed myself. I often use precious and semi-precious gemstones in my designs and I also like to feature handmade beads and components that other Etsy artists have made, because I find that they nicely accentuate my handmade metal clay work and personal style. Everything I make is one of a kind and the vast majority of my designs cannot be remade. I hope you'll keep checking back often to see what I'll be making next! Please feel free to send me a conversation if you have any questions about anything you see!!

Additional policies and FAQs
What is precious metal clay you ask? Precious Metal Clay (or PMC) and Art Clay Silver are two types of fine silver metal clay. I am certified with both brands of clay and work with each interchangeably. Metal clay is a material that can be sculpted, textured, and formed and is much like traditional ceramic clay in that it must be fired in a kiln to solidify. I fire my clay to the maximum temperature and for the longest duration of time so that my metal clay components are the strongest as possible. While firing, the metal clay molecules join with each other and become a solid piece of real fine silver metal. The pieces can be finished just like in traditional metalsmithing and I often tumble my pieces with steel shot for added strength. Fine silver tarnishes much less than sterling silver because it does not have the copper content but I often apply a patina for a blackened metal look. I typically will polish the high points for contrast. If you prefer a bright-silver look, please don't hesitate to let me know and I'll be happy to change the patina for you if it is possible to do so! ... please contact me for more information. :)
