Rediscovering the darkroom

You may have head your local hipster tell you there is magic in analog photography. Well, there is. In our technological world it is stunning to look at the finesse of a well crafted darkroom print and realise, that not a single bit of electronics was needed to produce it.

I have been passionate about photography since childhood. In my images I try to resist any attempt to wow. Rather I want to reflect the kind of compassionate calm, reclusion and outsideness that moves me. I prefer melancholy over elation, stillness over movement. I seek to capture images without place, time or location. Currently I am more interested in the edges of images than the central foreground.

I am a lover of art and philosophy. Some of my influences include Alberto Giacometti, Jean-Paul Sartre, Albert Camus, Ralph Gibson, Renato D'Agostin, Hiroshi Sugimoto, Tadao Ando, Yamamoto Masao and Klavdij Sluban just to drop some names. Explore their work and be inspired too!

Additional policies and FAQs
All silver gelatin prints are genuine wet prints made by myself in my small darkroom. Unless otherwise stated the prints are developed on Ilford MultiGrade IV fiber-based paper, processed and handled to archival standards.

All non-silver photographs are printed on the finest Hahnemuhle FineArt smooth matt 100% cotton papers using pigment inks that last 200 years. This paper is just amazing and gives the photographs an exhibition quality look.
