I would this into a quite giant cake almost as soon as I got it home and started on a chunky scarf [though I may have to halve my recipe!] ... it is looking less purple and I love it. I can't get enough of your lovely lovely yarn. It is a joy to knit. Thank you, Ms Gusset

Hand Dyed Yarn & Fibres from North Melbourne.

ms.gusset is the online boutique for what I can dye, fit, and post from my apartment in glorious North Melbourne. I'm passionate about using amazing fibres & supporting local & ethical business wherever possible. ms.gusset uses custom dye combinations and techniques to ensure that what you receive is truly special and unique.

I first started dyeing yarn when I couldn't find enough pink in the world. Other knitters in australia seemed to be buying a lot of hand dyed yarn from overseas - so I figured - why not make it available here? That's how ms.gusset was born.

I've founded another store on etsy - TONOFWOOL - a massive labour of love which involved working directly with one of Australia's most incredible farming families, and being in control of the whole supply chain from sheep to skein.

The difference between TONOFWOOL products on msgusset & TONOFWOOL? There is only the first (smaller) run of cormo wool available as top & hand dyed yarn in 100gram hanks on ms.gusset, which is shipped personally by me in North Melbourne.

The TONOFWOOL store holds the 2nd batch of processing which was done in New Zealand, and is usually shipped via a distributor. Find the store here:

ms.gusset yarn is in skeins. We encourage yarn buyers to wind their own skeins as it's part of the crafting process and gives you a greater knowledge of what you're working with.

yarn & fiber care

we recommend that all our wares are handwashed using a recommended wool/delicates wash/soap. wash as little as possible, line/air dry.
feel free to contact us if you need more info.

shopping over the internet vs. shopping in person are two different experiences - but that doesn't mean that we can't give you some of the same things that you're looking for.
please do send us a message if you'd like further information such as:

- photos of skeins laid out/side by side so that you can see if colorways will work together, or the variation between various skeins of the same dyelot.

- we're happy to ship small samples of yarn (ie a meter or so), so you can see how the yarn is in person - perfect if you have a particular project in mind, or you just happen to be a professional yarn sniffer.

- you'd like some basic advice - as a yarn store employee in a previous life, we can give the rundown on how many skeins to make a scarf, which yarn for which pattern, etc etc.
