About MSotherdenArtGlass

Sales 900
On Etsy since 2006

So I started playing with broken glass in college

and the rest, they say, is history. I have a degree in Fine Arts, with a concentration in copper foil stained glass technique. (Talk about a niche, eh?)

I started out working for a large stained glass restoration firm in the Pittsburgh area, and when the economy tanked (and I got downsized as a result) I put my stubborn on, bet against the house, and decided to open my own studio. Eight years later, I'm doing what I love (making cool stuff out of glass) and carving out a reputation for myself as a maker of beautiful unique things.

I love my job, and really, it might sound trite, but I wouldn't be here without my customers. So take a gander 'round my shop, and figure out what tweaks your geek.

I don't accept returns, exchanges, or cancellations
But please contact me if you have any problems with your order.
Returns and exchange details
REFUNDS: I ship glass, and while I package exceptionally well, I still recommend buying insurance. Please contact me for details, as items that arrive damaged without insurance cannot be replaced or refunded. **Please note - domestic orders totaling $75 or more automatically include insurance.** Store credit may be issued depending on circumstance., so if there's a problem beyond what I've listed here, please contact me to discuss it. That being said, I work with glass. If it's mistreated, it will break. That's simply the nature of the medium.

EXCHANGES: Store credit will be issued if I've sent the wrong item or misrepresented the purchased item.
Payment
METHODS: I accept paypal, all major credit cards, amazon payments, google checkout, and money orders. Money orders must be drawn on US funds from a US bank.

PAYMENT: Please make every effort to pay immediately. It keeps my bookkeeping tidy, which makes me a happy woman. In the case of google checkout or credit card payment via my merchant account, I play email or phone tag for three business days. And then I relist the item. If you're paying by money order, payment must be received by my studio within 7 days of purchase.

SALES TAX: Is currently charged to residents of Ohio. (7.25%)
Shipping
US ORDERS: I ship on Wednesdays and some Saturdays. Most of my items ship first class with delivery confirmation. **Delivery confirmation is NOT insurance, and I am shipping glass, so please consider purchasing insurance - just contact me and we'll go from there.** Domestic orders totaling $75 or more include insurance.

INSURANCE: Is HIGHLY recommended and can be added onto any order. Just let me know.

While your item will come in a new gift bag or box, I do occasionally reuse clean mailers. Shipping is based on actual shipping plus the packaging to get your item(s) safely to you. If for some reason the shipping cost ends up being a lot lower than what I've charged you, I will refund the difference.

INTERNATIONAL BUYERS: The rates listed on etsy are for Priority International, which is NOT traceable if lost. I HIGHLY recommend upgrading the shipping to Express International, which typically costs an additional $11-$18 beyond what I have listed, and automatically includes both a trackable shipping number and insures your package for $100 US. **I cannot be responsible for missing or damaged packages that are not sent via a trackable, insured method.**

CUSTOMS: I fill out customs forms honestly, which means what you paid is what gets written down, and your item will be marked as "online purchase". Buyers are responsible for all customs duties or charges that may be incurred.

WOULD YOU LIKE AN INVOICE? In the interest of Mother Nature, I print invoices by request only.
Additional policies and FAQs
CUSTOM ORDERS: are potentially welcome, although the lead time needed for your project may vary based on my studio's workload. If it's trademarked or copyrighted by someone else, you'll need written permission from the trademark or copyright holder for me to make your item in stained glass.

WHOLESALE: Limited to actual storefronts and require $300 minimum order as well as a copy of your sales tax license and EIN. Wholesale orders are accepted at the discretion of the studio.

CONSIGNMENT: Please contact me for further information. I will need a copy of your sales tax license and EIN. Consigning is at the discretion of the studio.
