Got someone on your list who feels the cold? Or maybe you just deserve a treat yourself? I’ve just listed some gift sets to make your life easier blush
Only I could go shopping for dog food and come home with a new clutch! But it goes perfectly with the new design of gloves I’m making........
These are the only two of this style I have left. They'd make a great gift for your favourite couple!

About

Following in a family tradition......

I come from a long line of makers. Things were made not bought, repaired not replaced....I was at school before I realised that you could BUY clothing.

The women in my family have always knit and crocheted. In fact one of my great, great grandmothers supported her family by selling her work. We have blankets, scarves and doilies that were made many years ago and still look great....that's the difference between a well made product using quality yarn and cheap mass produced wares. If looked after properly they just don't wear out, even when you want them too.

My mother taught me to knit when I was young and it has grown to be a big part of my life.....I can't just sit, but I can sit and knit. Basically I started this shop because I had run out of heads and necks, you can only gift knit worthy friends so many times before it becomes predictable.

What I like about knitting is that something that basically amounts to pointed sticks and string can be twisted into a nubbly garter stitch, smooth stocking stich, delicate lace and endless cables.....not only that but whole garments can be fitted to the human body by a series of decreases and increases...how cool is that? Then add in colour work and different fibres, its an infinitely fascinating experience.

The colours and textures of the yarn play a big part in my design process, My personal style is fairly conservative and subtle but I'm comfortable with adding in a bit of life via my handknits.

If you would like to see behind the scenes unedited pictures of knitting in action and assorted yarny things, please take a look at my Facebook page.

Oh and the shop name comes from one of my daughter's mates, who was entranced by my knitting...to the point that when her mum asked about the play date, her response was 'Ms Williams Knits, mum'

I learnt to knit at my mother's knee when I was 5 and she taught me to crochet about 3 years later....I've been working with yarn sporadically ever since. When we moved from Sydney to an area with cooler weather I started to knit continuously....
