Too cute for words. Even my husband giggles joyfully when he sees this little doggy soap dish. Diane made this for me custom and checked in during the process to let me know how it was going. Great seller and adorable product. Also, the packing she used for shipping was top-notch. Highly recommended.

About

Playing with mud and loving it!

I have been working with ceramics since 2008. It started with a Learning Exchange class at our local ceramics supply store. My first attempts were so horrible and I felt like I was just not improving. But, my husband bought me a pottery wheel, so I had to keep working at it. Despite my initial failures, I was determined to master this skill. I fell in love with this medium and have continued working on my skills and techniques.

I began to build up quite a large stock of pottery from all that practice. I gave lots of my early attempts away to friends, family, and co-workers. A friend told me about Etsy. I looked around for a while before finally jumping into the pool. But here I am, having a wonderful time.

I love each item I create, and hope that the final recipient of my work will also derive joy from the use of my pottery. I know when I hold a handmade mug in my hand it gives me a special feeling, I enjoy the coffee or tea that much more, knowing that it is handmade and no one else has one just like it. I'm hoping that you will feel that way too.

Frequently asked questions

Custom and personalized orders

I don't mind making custom items but, I want customers to be aware of time frames needed to make custom items, so they are not frustrated by how long it takes. It generally takes around 6-8 weeks from when I begin an item until it is finished. There are many steps and processes that go into making a piece of pottery.
Making the item takes a few days, between throwing on the wheel or hand building, to trimming, to assembly, to drying times.
Making enough items to fill the kiln takes at least four weeks.
Each item is glazed. The glaze for most of my work is brushed on, at least three coats. This takes several weeks.
Finally, the glaze kiln load is run to make the finish permanent.

Care instructions

Hand wash with warm soapy water for best results.
Items that are meant to be used every day, like coffee mugs, can be washed in the dishwasher as long as there is adequate space around them so they are not banging against other items in the dishwasher.
Raku items should be hand washed only. They should not be left outside or near windows where they will be exposed to the sun, as sun exposure may change their coloring or finish.
Pottery is breakable, so treat it gently and do not drop it, or it is likely to break.

Gift wrapping and packaging

My highest priority is ensuring that your item arrives safely. I wrap all items in bubble wrap, and place them in shipping peanuts.
If you would like an item wrapped in tissue paper over the bubble wrap, I am happy to do this if you ask me.
I'm also happy to add a personalized note from you if it is a gift. Just send me a convo letting me know what you want to say.

What if my item arrives and I am unhappy with it?

Please contact me. If we cannot resolve the problem, return the item for a full refund. Please ship back in the original packaging, or equivalent, to ensure safe return.
