Announcement    🤍 The Handmade Promise:
All items listed in this shop are handmade with love by me in my studio in New Jersey. I use durable stoneware clay that is chip-resistant and meant for everyday use. Everything is food, dishwasher, and microwave safe. Rest assured, no special care is needed.

Anyone can go to a big box store to pick up some ceramic dishes, but handmade pottery is so much more than a vessel for your food. Handmade pottery is meant to be held. Feeling the imperfections and obvious signs of the maker is why I started making pots in the first place. Using handmade pottery in your everyday life makes that cup of coffee or bowl of cereal just a little more special.

📦 I am very conscious of using eco-friendly packing materials and recycle my clay so that nothing goes to waste. I do not use bubble wrap, plastic tape, or those messy packing peanuts. Once received, please recycle or reuse all that you can from my carefully wrapped parcel.

Please note that some items are made to order and turnaround times are listed in each listing.

A little bit about Mud n' Biscuits...

Hello, my name is Linda Peterson. I am the potter at Mud n’ Biscuits Ceramics. Truth be known, this is a one-woman show so I am also the bookkeeper, stock girl, shipper, and janitor as well! You can be assured that there is a part of me in every aspect of this business.

For as long as I can remember, I have been creating art. I started with paints, and over time explored everything from mixed media to portrait painting. I had a brief fling with jewelry making before discovering clay.

It happened about 9 years ago when I was living in Michigan. I became friends with a gal who owned a pottery studio and gallery. Before long, I was working with her as the art curator. I quickly became hooked on clay, and my life as a potter began.

Life has taken a few twists and turns since then, but my dedication to my craft has only deepened. After moving back to California, I decided to return to school to pursue an art degree with a concentration in ceramics. After 9 years there, we moved again to the east coast.

Now I am living in beautiful Scotch Plains, NJ with my family and have built a small home studio. This has been a dream come true. It is full of light and is so much more inviting than that corner of the garage that I had in CA!

I love throwing on the wheel, hand building, or a combination of the two. This gives me so much more creative freedom, where I can explore irregular shapes, simple and whimsical silhouettes, and amazing textures. I like nothing better than seeing a piece that is instantly recognizable as handmade.
