About

Just a southern girl chasing her dreams.

Mudpies & Magnolias is the child of my first and second shops combined. In March of 2013, I officially opened my shop, MyCRO, with a good friend of mine. We primarily focused on handcrafted and painted, shabby chic, upcycled items and reclaimed pallets which we created into signs. Then in August of 2014, I opened Six10 Designs which focused more on handmade jewelry. For the longest time, I've dreamed of a brick and mortar shop and I imagined all different types of handcrafted items in that shop--anything from hand towels, glassware, lighting, and signs, to clothes, jewelry and accessories--all handcrafted by myself or other local artisans, and with a touch of southern spice. While I still have a dream of a brick and mortar someday, in the meantime, I decided to combine my two little shops into one bigger one, and after tons of dreaming, thinking, praying, and pondering, a new name randomly came to mind which has stuck with me and is now my shop's new identity: Mudpies & Magnolias. I LOVE my new name because not only does it draw from my southern roots, but it perfectly describes me and my personality! I am a southern belle who can sport a T-shirt, jeans, baseball hat, and flip flops while getting dirty and muddy, riding four wheelers and tromping through the creek, but I also have the side of me that loves to wear big curls, a sundress and a fabulous pair of wedges. Finally, after years of trying to figure out who I was an artist and as a shop, I feel like I know myself now and what I'm capable of. I've tried to morph myself and my art into what I see other people doing and though it may work for a moment, it doesn't stick. I love bright, vibrant colors, eclectic pieces, fun pieces that brighten up a dreary room, inspirational and spiritual quotes, and pieces that can start life changing conversations. My wish for M&M is that each item purchased will be a part of a couple's new beginning, add warmth to a new home, welcome a new baby, put a smile on someone's face who wasn't expecting a gift, and to lift someone's spirit who needs a pick-me-up. Since the beginning, my slogan has always been "handcrafted with faith & love" and that still stands today. Each and every item sold at Mudpies & Magnolias has been touched, retouched, and inspected by me; I put all of my effort in ensuring that the person receiving each order is excited to open that brown box, whatever the size. I solely rely on my faith in God and the love for what I do to help me complete each order and I can only hope and pray that it is felt when each customer receives their package.
