REMOVING MANUFACTURES STICKERS

1. Place a piece of plain white tissue or plain A4 white paper over the top of the sticker making sure it completely covers the sticker.
2. With a hot iron (steam turned off), place your iron on the paper, completely covering the sticker. Leave it there for about 30 seconds, moving your iron in small circles over the sticker area.
3. Remove the paper and peel away the sticker from the fabric. There may be some residue of glue left on the fabric.
4. With the same or fresh plain paper/tissue place it back onto the fabric over the glue residue and repeat process counting approx 30 seconds.
5. The glue should transfer to the paper leaving your fabric clean. If not repeat this step again until the glue is completely removed.

WHY MICOCO WORKS WITH VLISCO AFRICAN WAX FABRIC ONLY?

To date, Vlisco is the only brand that still produces authentic Wax Hollandais fabrics. Their designs –often seen as works of art– come to life through our traditional wax-based technique, making every printed yard truly unique.
Vlisco is also known as ‘Wax Hollandais’, its most popular and beloved product. ‘Wax’ refers to the resin that is used to create the design and ‘Hollandais’ to the Netherlands where this fabric is originally–and still–produced since 1910.
The range and combination of colours used is extremely varied and emphasizes the unique styles of Vlisco fabrics. One of the colours is often used to highlight a natural bubbling effect, which gives a unique and lively appearance and authenticates every yard of Wax Hollandais.

HOW THE WAX PRINTING PROCESS IS MADE?

The designs are always mirrored on the front and back of the cotton cloth fabric. With the use of the special wax printing technique, the pattern is applied to the fabric. First, two engraved copper rollers print a layer of melted wax on both sides of the fabric. Then, the fabric is dyed with the base colour; the ink gets onto the places no wax is applied. Next, the first and/or second colours are added. On average, a Wax Hollandais fabric passes 27 steps before it is ready.
It can only be Vlisco if every yard is truly unique. Uncover the craft of their age-old wax printing process that brings the perfect imperfections to their designs and authenticates every piece of Wax.

HOW DO WE RECOGNIZE THE ORIGINAL AFRICAN WAX PRINT FABRIC?

We recognize a true wax fabric watching several things:

1- The impression: both sides of the fabric have the same intensity. It is almost impossible to know which is the right and the reverse.
2- The irregularity of its drawing and its bubbles, which are formed in a random way, generate the singularity in the tissues.
3- Its colors do not fade and are resistant. The wax maintains the freshness of the colors over time and protects the textile from the sun and continuous washing.
