Don't let a few extra dollars stear you away from buying this...Beautiful, heavy material and wonderful backpack. It is sturdy enough for me and my son to use. Best part is that it is a work of art, just lovely craftsmanship! Very Happy.

About

As long as I can remember I've been creating. Even before I knew how to sew I used Elmer's glue and a rudimentary stitch to piece together little creations for my friends. Luckily, now, I know how to use a sewing machine and since that first class in Junior High, the possibilities have been limitless and no longer involve school glue.

I get my best inspiration when there are parameters boxing me in. Even in college my best designs came when I was given a specific assignment with a rubric of necessary elements. Something magical happens when I stop focusing on the things I can't do and start focusing on what I CAN do. Simplicity, originality, functionality, and affordability happen that way too. (Perhaps that's why I was drawn to block printing for making my textiles. There is really sooooo much you CAN do with it, even though there are things you can't.)

I came up with this shop many years before I even started posting items. I had a million ideas but most involved using equipment I didn't have or spending money I didn't have to spend. The idea for the backpack came when we lived overseas, on a small island with limited resources, and I wanted to give my two year old son a backpack for his birthday. Limitations. So I made my own and used that original pattern I had created to refine and streamline the products I have today.

Each item is hand carved, hand stamped, and hand sewn by yours truly. Each design is unique and original. So much love is put into each item.
This shop has been stuck in my head and my heart for years, at the edge of my fingertips for ages but for whatever reason it's been put off and scrapped for later. This is my "heart child". Thank you so much for stopping by. :)
