Welcome to Mungo + Midge - purveyors of UK, European and Scandinavian Mid Century Modern Vintage!


All of our items are genuine vintage pieces sourced in markets, thrift stores, auctions and private collections - we aim to provide as much information as we can discover about why each piece is unique or special. We're constantly on the look-out for interesting vintage pieces and only offer items of a quality we'd be happy to have in our own home.


As vintage items, they have all been previously used and loved - we describe items as accurately as possible and will try to point out any obvious marks or flaws. We aim to offer items in good condition and working order - where flaws exist, we consider them to be incidental to the use or enjoyment of the item. If you'd like more information about a particular piece, don't hesitate to contact us - we're always happy to answer your questions!


If you don't see what you're looking for or are trying to source a particular designer or item, drop us a line - we have lots of contacts in the vintage world and will do our very best to find that extra special piece to bring some mid century modern or vintage style to your home!

All items are vintage with some evidence of use which we describe with great care - the pieces are sold as described and all sales are final. Please ensure you are happy with the written and photographic description prior to purchase and ask for further information, if required.


If the item received does not match the description, we will happy to discuss an exchange or refund - please contact us, within 14 days of receipt, to agree an appropriate solution.

Please note that refunds do not include shipping costs, as all items are shipped in good faith and this is a legitimate non-refundable expense.


We wrap our items very carefully to make sure they arrive in perfect condition for you to enjoy. However, even the most carefully wrapped item can be damaged if not handled with care by the shipping company - we cannot accept responsibility for damage during transit and recommend shipping with insurance, particularly for delicate items.

If you receive an item that has been damaged in transit, please contact us immediately and we will do our best to assist.

It is important to us that we offer the level of customer service that we ourselves would wish to receive and we will always look for a mutually agreeable solution to any problems that may arise.
We accept payment by Paypal, bank transfers (EU), money orders (Euro currency only) and personal cheques (Ireland only).

To pay by bank transfer, tick the 'Other' box at the check-out and add a note indicating you wish to pay by bank transfer.

When paying by bank transfer, money order or personal cheque, payment should reach us within 7 days of purchase - items will not be shipped until the payment is cleared. If payment if not received within this timescale, the sale will be cancelled and goods returned to the shop for sale.

All items are shipped via the Irish national postal service, An Post.

Items are shipped within 24 - 48 hours - we send a confirmation note to let you know when they're on their way. If there is likely to be a delay, we will contact you.


All items are listed with the most economical shipping rate shown as standard - the Standard Mail Packet or Parcel service, depending on the weight.

It is, generally, a very reliable service but does not include tracking or insurance - we cannot accept responsibility for any loss, delay or damage arising.


For peace of mind, we recommend adding tracking and insurance to your purchase, especially for delicate, fragile or valuable purchases - simply click on the upgrade link in the listing and add it to your order.

The Registered Mail Packet or Parcel service includes tracking and insurance, depending upon the destination. To check on the level of insurance / exclusions, please contact us prior to purchase.


We can also offer alternative shipping solutions at the buyer's request including Express Shipping via An Post, where available, or delivery by courier. Please note that these options are more expensive - please request a quote prior to purchase. We will source the most reliable and cost-effective solution to meet your requirements.


Depending on location, there may be Customs charges, taxes or duties due on delivery of a purchase - these are the responsibility of the buyer and are not included in our shipping costs.


We try to keep our shipping costs as low as possible to stay competitive - these include Postage, Paypal fees for transfer of money (shipping cost only) and packaging materials - boxes, bubble-wrap, tape, packing peanuts etc. We use recycled packaging materials wherever possible to reduce these costs.


If our shipping charges are over by more than €2.00, we will refund the excess.


We are happy to combine postage on multiple purchases, within the guidelines above, and will refund any excess postage.
Additional policies and FAQs
If you are buying a gift for a special occasion, please let us know - we'll provide a gift card and a special leaflet describing the item, where it comes from and what makes it special.

All items are stored in a non-smoking, pet-free environment.

If you'd like to reserve a particular item, just drop us a line. We're happy to hold pieces for up to 48 hours, after which they will be returned to the shop for sale.
